Shantae and the Seven Sirens is just mid. It's not a bad game, but there's nothing special about it. There's a lot of reused assets and the world design is pretty lazy. It looks nice and Shantae's movement feels pretty good, but there's no real reason to play this game over any other entry in the series.

5/10

The weakest 'Shantae' game musically, 'Seven Sirens' offers a unique take on the animal transformations and even offers up new magic to utilize. It's also the biggest single Metroidvania map in the series to date. Monster cards offer up something extra to collect and excess can be sold for gems to buy other upgrades with. With this game's release, we're one step close to a full-blown 'Shantae' animated series and I'm all for it.
