way too easy to be enjoyable. also why do you only support joycons; it's a fucking first party nintendo game

The first game that made me rage quit because it's too easy. I enjoy easy games, Kirby is one of my favorite franchises and I enjoyed Pokémon X which is a goo goo gaga baby game. However, this game takes it to a whole new level. From the amount I've played no other pokémon is worthy of existing because Pikachu doesn't care. Types do not matter, I encounter a ground-type pokémon and Pikachu simply disagrees. Nothing can stop this monster. Also, catching pokémon sucks, but my main gripe is the nonexistent difficulty. The game looks alright and the music is fine but I just don't see any point of enduring this snooze-fest.

Helped me get a Melmetal, which in turn gave me a topic of conversation when talking to the girl in my art class who exclusively drew Eeveelutions.
Thank you, Let's Go Pikachu.

Gostei tanto do jogo a ponto de zera-lo 2 vezes e ainda zerar a versão Let's Go, Eevee! Amei o jogo e super recomendo jogarem essa maravilha!

This is a pretty watered down version of the Pokemon series that integrates Go's mechanics to try and bridge the gap between the mainline and mobile games. For what it's worth, it does the job, albeit not being a super memorable or great game in its own right.

I love mediocre products

it may be iffy but at least I got to play GEN1

Replay, first since 2018. Really good but somewhat dull but kinda really good??? I think it’s difficult to remake Gen 1 nowadays (saying that as someone who played the OGs as a kid) because they’re highly simplistic compared to where the franchise has gone since then. These remakes’ greatest strength is they quicken the pacing somewhat via EXP Share+overworld random encounters+streamlining the catching process via GO mechanics. The Pokemon following is really nice too, and on a Switch OLED I think Let’s Go is a pretty game as well (makes S/V look extra embarassing in some ways by comparison).

On the other hand, it’s Gen 1, so it’s a pretty small/linear map, not many Pokemon (in some ways a strength though) and the trainer encounters get somewhat dull. The forced motion controls are also a bit much. Still, nice nostalgia trip. Didn’t mind it!

Brought back my nostalgia but in a better way. I love the new combat style and the 3D aspect. It's really nice

Curiosities:
1. You no longer battle pokémon to death (unless you're battling against a trainer or a gym leader). If you want to level up your pokémon you need to either fight trainers or catch pokémons in the wild. So the new battle system consists mainly of catching pokémon (and you get combos too).

2. You get the chance of having one pokémon following you around. If it's big enough you can even mount it.

3. This time Pikachu will learn all the important TM such as fly, cut, surf, e.t.c. It's a strange add on but that doesn't mean it's not cool (He doesn't fly if that's what you're thinking but he uses balloons to do so).

I think it was treated a little too harshly. It was fun, it was cool to see Kanto completely different, and it had that feel from yellow and heartgold of your poekmon being your companion. I wasnt mad about it

unironically one of the most fun mainline games out there

traded my broken ps4 that couldn't turn on in for this (shoutout gamestop :| bruh) didn't have high expectations and was blown away. super fun game to just turn your brain off and play. a great introduction to pokemon for people who only played pokemon go. i met a new all time favorite mon (shout out my boi Emerson the Nidoking) i need him in Scarlet stat

A great work for remember the start of my pokemon travels on my childhood 25 years later, but it's fun to play it and the new lore incorporations or npc's characterizations is really good

A remake of Pokemon red that keeps no charm from the original, and is generally boring. music is alright

I know this one was made for kids, but it was still too baby-level for me.

This one was hard to get through, gen 8 as a whole was just bad

Played this at launch and have done so a few more times since then. Enjoyed the game and love that you can hunt Shiny Pokémon easily in this version of the original Yellow Version. Seeing the Pokémon running in the wild and the animation style was cute and made the world more alive. The catching mechanics in this game are based on Pokémon GO and not the classic games, so all of your team gets EX from multiple catches or trainer battles. You still have 8 gyms and the Elite Four to defeat as you do in the classic games. Plus fighting Team Rocket and even Green in the post game.

Post game also allows you to challenge 153 Master Trainers, each one being a master of one Pokémon (including Mew, Meltan, and Melmetal). I beat a handful of these but ended up stopping due to boredom of grinding.

I have another run of this going that I haven't touched in a bit, but its a fun game to play once in a while.

somehow the best looking pokemon game on switch

its a fine enough remake of gen 1. a bit simple and way too easy at times but it is pokemon. the game is still charming as hell and i would rather play this than sword or shield not gonna lie

Everytime I pick up this game i'm like "Yes this will be it, i'm going to finish the game."... And that never happens.
I usually get about half way (getting the badges) and my motivation runs out.

Visually its really pretty, the Pokemon all look great, the characters are just like from the original show.

The thing that kills it for me is how they changed the "capture" mechanic, and made it like Pokemon GO. Before you would battle the creature down before attempting to capture it.
Now you throw berries and Pokeballs at it in the hopes to nab the creature.. Maybe its just me, but it sucks. If i want to play pokemon GO i'll play Pokemon GO.

I'd still recommend this to any Pokemon fan, but if you are a "GenWunner" and want a "decent" remake true to the original games, go play Fire red or Leaf Green.

Fun, but I absolutely dislike the forced pokemon go-esque catching mechanic. Not really that accessible for anyone with a disability. Great art style.

Amazing remake. Love the graphics and all the extra stuff they added.
But they made the game way more easy and random encounters are gone.

HORRRIBLLE DO NOT PAY FOR THIS.
WORST POKEMON GAME EVER THE STORYLINES SHIT THE GAMEPLAY IS SHIT THE CHARACTERS ARE SHIT EVEYTHING WAS JUST SO SHIT I COULDNT EVEN FINSIH IT CAUSE IT WAS SO SHIT SHIT SHIT
get literally any other pokemon game and youll be satasfied

it's like if pokemon go and pokemon yellow were forced together in a vacuum and morphed into this. its fun, but it just aint the same.

é Kanto, só que mais simples ainda

apesar disso, existem varias mudanças aqui que são legais, mas ainda é só Kanto, a região mais simples de pokémon, e com mecânicas de gameplay simplificadas

a great pokemon game, even if it's a weird one. i have a lot of great memories with this one (trying to get that shiny sandshrew with trevor to no avail). idk if i'd recommend it now but i did like it
