Fresh off of God of War 2 I was starting to think this series just wasn't for me, despite my constant attempts for it to click. Luckily my stubbornness paid off and God of War III is by far my favorite of the franchise so far, even over 2018. This was the first of the original series where I wasn't desperate for it to end and actually had fun the whole way through. The first game still has a better story to tell, but this game excels over it (and the second game) in every other way. Most of the issues I had with the first two games are basically gone. I much prefer how this game handles items and weapon specials. I found the fist weapons extremely fun to use.

There were a few parts that felt janky, but overall this game rules. Really glad I actually like one of these games.
