Oh my god, I love Final Fantasy VII.

This game's story is so dense. Within 30 hours you feel as though you've watched 5 seasons of an anime. And for as clunky as it can often be, I adore it. Themes of identity, a strong pro-environment message, wrapped in a found family bow.

It's endlessly loveable, and the story still manages to carry weight despite being carried out by characters that you can count the polygons on.

Unfortunately it has random encounters.

Top 3 worst ATB implementation I played thru. Don't get me wrong, the narrative is good and I like some of the characters but the game is so slow turn to turn when it comes to bosses esp Seph.

Waiting here playing my thumbs for the next move to come out.

Oh yeah, right, there's also this """remaster""". It was kinda fun to get the platinum, but I'd definitely recommend the PS1 original to stick with how the went was intended to be played.

I wanted to loves this, but FF7 hasn't aged well. There sure is a great plot and an interesting world to explore, but I just couldn't deal with the cumbersome navigation through blurry backgrounds, fighting animations that are infuriatingly slow and bewildering tonal inconsistencies.

Mr beast burger simulator better

i really want to get into this, but i honestly just don't enjoy playing it in this form. i'm sure the story lives up to its reputation, but i just can't sit through the random encounters and turn-based combat.

what more is there to say about one of the most highly lauded games of our time? well, one thing i can say is this was my third swing at it, both times previously i stopped playing (not really losing interest but got distracted) at the snowy tundra area within disc 2. finally beat it this time!

yeah i'll cave and say it is pretty spectacular, it is pretty much all that its hyped up to be, even with its shitty tower defense minigames and roblox character models. that final battle, holy shit man. was always sort of avoiding hearing one winged angel all my life because i knew i never got to experience the moment it actually occurred, and by the time it came around.. yeah. it did NOT disappoint in any way whatsoever

there is a part of me that wishes i experienced this on original hardware though, i've seen the comparisons online between playing this game in particular on a CRT and its seemingly night and day. most old games are but y'knowwww

i'd imagine experiencing this game as a kid is probably life altering in some way.

Absolutely phenomenal game. It has hailed as one of the best RPGs ever made for a reason. The story is incredible, the best in video game history in my opinion. The gameplay, while dated, is still incredibly fun and strategic. The music is especially amazing. Each track is memorable and iconic. And that final boss was just chefs kiss perfect.

Enjoyed it, would've enjoyed it more if the random encounters didn't feel so intrusive. Minigames are silly, I love snowboarding 10 minutes after a major character death.

Huge props to 7th heaven and Tsunamods, made the experience much more enjoyable

cloud strife you have done miracles on me

Although, I'm not the biggest fan of JRPGs as a genre and much more prefer a proper fast and to the point game, I however, found myself loving a great majority of this game as it felt like a much better intro in the world of JRPGs. Amazing characters with a perfect soundtracks makes this an experience i will never forget.

I'm not that into most JRPGs and I didn't grow up playing this. I went in wanting to see if I got a better understanding of the love for the characters of this game. By god I get it now!

The age of this game does show at times and my patience for some JRPG elements meant it took a while for it to grip me. But once it gripped me I couldn't stop playing until the end. It's no wonder Cloud, Aerith, Tifa and Sephiroth are such lasting icons of gaming over two and a half decades later.

For any new players, I highly recommend play a modern port for quality of life additions with the 3x speed, god mode and encounters toggle.

Most mainstream Final fantasy game, but not in vain.
This game was the biggest leap in terms of visual quality and gameplay.
Many people would say that it is the best for this very reason, it is the one that stood out the most and attracted attention as it was an innovation, but in my opinion, although it is still very good, it would be top 3-4 at best.

An incredible story that makes you feel all the emotions, and makes you think hard on what the fuck just happened. the graphics have aged poorly and some of the minigames are annoying but for the most part, this is a great experience that aged better than most games of its time. the soundtrack is something else, too. every song is perfect. the characters are well written and lovable, and sephiroth is a truly terrifying villain, who for the most part, is more of a psychological force rather than a physical threat for most the game.

Awesome. The ending made me hate it the first time, but the story is beautiful with an awesome message and a deep philosophy behind it.

Okay, Final Fantasy VII is a classic for a reason, but some parts haven't aged super well. The story is wild and totally got me hooked, plus characters like Cloud and Sephiroth are iconic. But dude, those blocky character models are kinda rough on the eyes now, and the turn-based combat can feel slow. Still, if you're into JRPGs and want to see where the hype came from, it's worth experiencing...especially if you play the remake afterwards!

One of the best JRPGs ever released, it is only hampered by some obtuse requirements and an annoying final boss phase. The Materia system is one of the best magic systems Final Fantasy has ever implemented.

Apenas meu jogo favorito de todos os tempos

No one actually talks about how weird and stupid this game is on top of being legitimately great. It's both stupid clown shit AND genuinely well written and designed. There's a big dumb RTS game for no reason. Characters act like maniacs. It's like if Deadly Premonition was a giant, mainstream hit that changed the industry. It's awesome.
