Hype cycle surrounding this game was a fun time, I blitzed through this game when it came out. I love a lot of the mechanics introduced, the only real negative I have is the performance is very shaky at times.

My favorite mainline pokemon game
Nice story and world, but the game is poorly optimized. Anything other than a 1v1 battle with weak pokemon makes the game drop fps. Fights become longer simply because I am waiting for the game to read my inputs.

disagree with me all you want i just cannot enjoy these games. i come to this series for a multitude of things such as how creative you can get with team building and great replay value. this game lacks that. add onto it the sheer slowdown of it all makes me never wanting to revisit it outside of my original playthrough. i thought it was pretty good back then but now, i never wanna touch this again frankly.
WAY better than that excuse of a game "Pokemon Moon", this game has the all inclusive Tirtouga, while that dumb game called 'PoKeMOn MoOn' has the disgusting Bastiodon in it!

it just wasn’t that enjoyable honestly but it has its few moments
I played and beat it once. Verlysify WIFI battle videos were kino back in 2017, even if Shofu eviscerated him in that diss track. Still, this was my last Pokémon game. The Switch would change Nintendo forever. The best thing about this game are the island challenges, Poplio (over hated starter that I loved), and team Guzma (straight-up limp bizkit coded). However, Z-moves are super gimmicky and the pacing leaves something to be desired. This game really takes a while to get going and even after it does the handholding is sooo much.

Got it on release and have barley touched it since. I might give it another shot some day but I'll more than likely play one of the Ultra versions instead.
To this day, I don't like that there isn't any gym battles in gen 7
