After having the most iconic RPG protagonist, it makes sense to add the most iconic RPG antagonist.

He's probably my second favorite character pick from the DLC, which is why it's so disappointing that he's just not that fun to play.

Comeback mechanics are icky, but otherwise ticks all the boxes for a good Smash inclusion - a legendary character nobody was asking for, with a fun, well-designed moveset that's got unique moves but isn't trying to play like a different game. Only complaints would be 1. this is still Smash Ultimate at the end of the day, and 2. while I like having competitive stages, the fact this one is a clone of an existing stage (Kalos) and has a motion sickness trigger makes it a little worthless.

I am biased so heavily, but Sephiroth's addition was so hype. He isn't game-breaking either. I will never forget his reveal at TGA.

I'm not even a Final Fantasy superfan and I LOST IT when I heard the opening of One Winged Angel in that trailer. Having him be the first third party villain in the series is such a brilliant choice.
