I'm glad alpha dream was able to make this game before the end it has lots of fan service for long time fans and the dreamy Luigi stuff is super fun

Our favorite Mario RPG, and you can tell because we're plural! ...Okay, that doesn't explain anything.

Some people are kinda mean to this game, either because of it having long tutorials (which... we have a 10 year old Cookie Clicker save, so maybe we just have the patience of a saint, but it never bothered us even on a repeat playthrough) or because it's a 3DS-era Mario & Luigi game when those are rather notoriously a mixed bag of contentious titles. We happen to fall on the "love" side of this one.

The music is transcendent as always. The Dream World is a fun gimmick, and we adore the Dreamy Luigi shenanigans. Prince Dreambert got slept on literally, we're so sad he basically never got the chance to appear again when he's a very fun character being this prim-and-proper dude that's also just kind of A Guy, who has a frat bro best friend, and also his frat bro best friend is One Of The Closest Things To A God In A Mario Game. The Pi'illos are so cute! And, of course, we, for two, accept our Plural Luigi overlords.

As far as we're concerned, this is a must-play for any 3DS owners--if only to experience what it's like. While Superstar Saga is probably "objectively" better, we can't help but show our bias in favor of the funny Luigi one.

Decent Mario RPG. Giant battles were fun, but in normal battles I feel like the Bros. attacks get out of hand. Every attack is like an entire 10-60 second mini game and it's a lot.

The first Mario & Luigi for the 3DS, and I think they hit it out of the park. The graphics got a nice new style, and the game uses the improved hardware of the 3DS to its fullest, without increasing loading times.
I will say that the gyroscope and the touch screen don't 100% work like I had hoped and that the overworld seems a bit overfilled with enemies. However, I do enjoy the possibility of visiting past boss battles that have become harder, adding more to the replayability factor!

boring and slow asf soulless and the beginning of the end LOL

I think this game would be really good if it wasn't for the insane amount of hand holding it feels like you can't do anything without the game stopping you because god forbid you figure anything for yourself in this game.
it has a very unique RPG system but also one that tends to make combat drag out often thankfully the game isn't too grind-y but there were definitely some types of enemies where I would go you are not worth the XP I am out, there a lot of enemy/attack/animation variety but by the end of the game I was tired honestly for me it was keeping me going was mostly the puzzle platformer aspect of it, it's chill not particularly hard but not too easy the ability you gain throughout the game are intuitive there's a good balance here at least when the game again isn't hand holding you.

You know that joke from hard drive where they are like "Next Pokemon set to have the even slower text" That's this game unironically this game, I started playing this months ago every time I would pick it up and try to play a little and the most drowsy feeling like capable of curing the most powerful insomnia would come over me it is sleep-inducing every time you have to sit through some minimal dialogue in this game the first 4 hours in this game are hell I really thought I was not gonna be able to finish it based on how boring it was but it gets better that being said if you don't have the patience of a saint I have a really hard time recommending this

Best mario & luigi game no question.

the last mario & luigi game that really stood out. the gameplay is still as solid as ever, i personally don't like the change they made with the 3d environments. isn't as memorable as bowser's inside story and superstar saga but it still is a fantastic time.

While not as good as BIS, it does do some things better. I really like this world, and the story is okay too, the combat is amazing (as usual), and the gian battles are improved hugely from BIS, the gimmick of going into luigi's dreams is also really good, although they stay pretty surface-level throughout. The music in this game is amazing, the higher quality speakers of the 3DS really help elevate them compared to the DS.

But despite all that, it just doesn't live up to BIS. Going into bowsers body is GENIUS, and the story was way more interesting than Dream team. Also dream team LOVES giving tutorials, even for the most surface-level easy to understand bullshit, it's exhausting.

Got this for christmas 2015 or 16 i believe, great game

Sympa le mode difficile. Mention au combat contre Bowser Jr qui est l'un des combats les plus funs tout RPG confondu pour moi

Yeah, I liked this one. A lot of people say this one is just boring but I thought it was ok.

I liked the dream world idea and all of the different Luigi transformation gimmicks. The gameplay is just as solid as all the previous games too.

In terms of cons, I'm not sure if I'm a fan of the way these characters look now, since personally I preferred the way BiS looked. That and this game does drag on for maybe a bit too long in my opinion.

Other than that, it's still a Mario & Luigi game, you are probably gonna have a fun time with this one. It's just not as good as Bowser's Inside Story or maybe even Partners in Time.

i’m a very new m&l fan so i have no nostalgic bias towards these games. a couple years ago i decided to finally play through them all. LOVED the original trilogy to bits but something about dream team felt… off? it felt too slow, messed with my muscle memory i’d gained over the last 3 games and it didnt feel right. I shelfed it for a year or so and grew a bitter resentment towards it, saying it ruined the series and never got what made people love it…

until people got on my ass about it i decided to give it a second chance, see it through to the end to see if it was truly worth the hype. my answer? its GOOD. but i wouldnt consider it on par with the original trilogy. its a game with stellar world building with the pillos, zeekeeper and antasma. its amazingly fleshed out and i got really interested to its story. but the pillo kingdom itself feels very… bland? it uses the grass, desert, beach, jungle etc locations mario fans are used to but shakes it up in a way that doesnt really change it all THAT much. the gameplay however is where the game faulters hardest. it’s the same m&l you know but with weird motion and confusingly inconsistent input commands?? why would i use bye bye cannon when jet board is right there and does more damage? (granted this could be a nonissue because its been a while since i played the other games but idk)

the dream world itself is interesting in concept but doesnt really do much for me in terms of gameplay, its just very uninteresting puzzle solving mixed with fun luiginary effects, i like pulling on his mustache and making him sneeze, plus luigi’s character arc towards him being more confident… while done before was super nice to see :)

the main area where this game shines for me is the giant battles!!! oh my god these are soooo good, the spectacle of it all is magnificent! the bowser fight ESPECIALLY was great for someone like me who loves BiS to bits. plus the zeekeeper fight and the giant town robot were probably luigi at his coolest. while basic in gameplay the pure spectacle of it alone easily made going through the game worth it, just to see how cool it could get.

me personally, i wouldnt blame you if you skip it but if you decide to see it all the way through, you’re in for a pretty fun time with cool characters and a cool setting.

Absolutely bursting with charm like the series usually does, this entry is great for a first time playthrough but very hard to pick up again a second time. The last title in the series with a lot of new characters and new setting, very fun but can be a bit too slow at times. The dream mechanic is very creative.

it's called Dream Team because it makes you sleep

Game was fun but feels like it drags on way too long.

"All...things...MUST SLEEP" - Antasma, The Year of Luigi.

If dreams are as action packed as this, then fall asleep I shall! AlphaDream strikes again with their 3DS entry. The 4th tale sees a nice jump in the visual presentation that allows for a more vivid style. And carrying over from the 3rd comes the 3D and 2D locales to explore. The battle system is as fun as ever with the Dream world offering a unique twist painted mean green. Antasma is another fantastic Mario RPG villain worthy of standing along the others. I loved the added spectacle of the Giant Battles as well. And with Yoko Shimomura masterminding the musical elements again, you can expect a whole collection's worth of dreamy melodies. And I appreciate the way Luigi himself was handled, with his Luigination powers at work to support his brother through the journey, that right there is true sibling love. While some tutorials can really drag in some areas, Mario & Luigi: Dream Team absolutely shows its worth as another fantastic Mario RPG experience I can always fantasize about in my sleep.

good but feels less... edgy?? than bowsers inside story. idk. just feels kinda smoothed out in comparison. but still good

fuck the gyro section in the giant Luigi/Bowser battle

Often overshadowed by it's predecessor, Dream Team it's a game that every Mario RPG fanatic needs to play at some point in their lives.
The only criticism that I can think of is it's irregular pacing, but is not really a deal-breaker.
Overall, a fantastic entry in the Mario & Luigi series.

Lo abandoné, no porque sea mal juego ni nada pero es que se me perdió la consola :'v

I love the art style for this game and though it doesn't quite manage to live up to the charm of the previous games in the series, that doesn't mean it lacks a charm of its own.

As a follow up, it doesn't a great job! While I still prefer Bowser's Inside Story, Dream Team was still filled with fun bosses, a great story, and using Luigi in the dream world for power ups is so good. Love this game.

To me it's on par with bowser's inside story, dream team was the last great game of the series and its unfortunate.

if this game was 20 hours instead of ALMOST 40 I think this would be a truly great game just like the ones before it. there are so many great ideas buried through how god damn slow it all feels

My favorite Mario & Luigi game to date! The highs are just too high for me to not like it. I understand the hate of the tutorials, but I feel like they were exaggerated. I do wish the motion controls worked better though. Still my favorite OST, battle system, world, community, art style, etc.
