This game is beautiful. This is all crammed into an engine from 2004, and its BEAUTIFUL. The VALVe bastards took everything from Portal 1 and polished it to a mirror sheen. The soundtrack is better, the acting is better, the levels are better. The only thing I was sad with was the change in atmosphere. The first game was a clinical trial turned into an industrial escapade. The second is ironically more lively, given all the other subjects are now dead and the only living things are the plants and birds inhabiting the facility. Bit of a departure, but I appreciate it. This game means a lot to me, as it got me further into games as a kid.

First playthrough in over a decade (just the campaign, would love to come back once I make a friend). Writing-wise, I do miss the dry, deadpan delight of the first game. The more broad, tongue-in-cheek, quippiness is still a lot of fun, but it has unfortunately become victim to the tragedy of starting a trend. Now, 13 years later, this style is fucking EVERYWHERE in media and I'm so, so exhausted by it. That said, the three leads are very entertaining and the performances are brilliant.
I was shocked at just how short and easy the game is. The puzzles are a lot of fun, and the Aha! moments still carry the same dopamine hit, but where Portal 1 at least teased at the idea of puzzles having more than one solution, the ones here feel basic, like the devs had all sorts of ridiculous multi-tiered ideas for exploring the mechanics and only kept the first tier.
That said, this is still an outrageously entertaining game, and one of the best puzzle-platformers ever. The developer commentary is fantastic, too. I remember the co-op being great, so I'm excited to try it out again.
