Spoiler: this game sucks.

In my first five hours I was like, "fuck I can't wait to read everyone's thoughts and essays when I'm done" but then later realized that it was getting pretty messy and not worth thinking about too hard.

What a good-looking remake.

The story is good, but you will have trouble telling the characters apart. I took a short break from playing and then couldn't even recall which generic dude I was playing as. But the story quickly picks up, the acting is good, and a fine orchestral score helps it along.

The cover-based shooting mechanic isn't ground-breaking, but I never got stuck to a wall or confused the way I have been with more triple-A games. The shooting is very fun. Wildly shooting your inaccurate pistol while running for cover feels very Gangster Movie.

The biggest flaw here is one that many open-world games trying to copy GTA have: so much boring driving. Now in boring cars!
