I'm so glad I finally get to log this game, this was my absolute favourite horse game as a kid. Fun fact, the people who made this game have also worked on Mirror's Edge and some of the newest Battlefield games.
It's dated, it's ugly, it's also short and a lot of fun so if you have 3h to spare and literally nothing better to do, go for it. I certainly appreciate it for what it is.

This review contains spoilers

I think this game is very special, being the start of the Fable franchise, integrating new features that were fairly impressive and offering an interesting story that is either witty or ridiculous at times, often making me smirk. You do feel its age though.
It's a remaster so they tried their best to improve the graphics, which they did, but I often felt like it didn't look quite as good as it could have, especially compared to games that were released in the same year. I haven't played the original so I can't say for sure whether they changed anything about the gameplay but i thought it felt very fable-y and I progressed smoothly.
I just felt exhausted by the combat system.
It's a lot of dodging and trying to target the right enemy, it feels clunky and my fingers usually start to hurt after 10-15 minutes or so.
One more issue is the aging. It's really cool that they implemented that and in theory, I do like it a lot, but my character just ended up aging too fast. By the time i reached the Arena, my character was in his mid-thirties already, which felt way too fast, and to make matters worse, he looked like he was a year away from retirement. I looked older than my mum. And there I was thinking that the Sims aging system was odd.
All complaints aside, this game is great if you have the patience for it, I personally prefer the later installments but I couldn't miss out on this piece of gaming history.

I think this game has some interesting ideas and I do like the setting and the whole "gotta look out for the child" element but I also have to admit that this game bores me. The levels are very repetitive and the AI of the guards is just way too easy to fool. You move a box or a barrel and they won't even check where the rope comes from. Generally speaking, the whole rope gameplay seems kinda buggy to me and I always have to laugh when my character dangles in the air like a sack of potatoes.
The time stopping aspect is interesting but it gives me a headache after a bit and I always end up toggling the time back to normal.
You can tell that the people working on this had a vision and that they put a lot of hard work into this game but I just can't carry on playing.

If you're not a child, this game is not for you.

This game, let me tell you, it's so so stupid. It kinda reminds me of Japanese VNs that have a "life simulation" aspect, which basically means you can choose what your character does all week but instead of actually doing it yourself, you watch the calendar days go by and have half a cutscene once in a while. The humour of this game is absolutely atrocious, relying completely on outdated teen-lingo, and you know what? I love it. I do. I've been playing nonstop for the past 3h and i find it so nostalgic. Not that I played this when I was little but it oozes an early 2000s vibe that makes me appreciate this game much more than it deserves.
It's not a good simulator or sims clone and you're probably better off playing something else but it has something of a clumsy charm to it and while I doubt I'll play this for much longer, I'm actually really enjoying it at the moment.

I'm a fan of the 3rd and 4th game so I felt the need to try this one out and i really can't say I liked it too much. Don't get me wrong, the story drew me in from the very beginning, I liked the world and the activities, I loved how many shops there were and how the game was humorous while maintaining a dark tone, I just can't get beyond the crashes. I don't know how this game runs on other platforms but the PC version is unbearably unstable. I'm a sucker for character customisation and I love to change up my clothes, which I think is a fairly important part of the Saints Row series, but that's exactly when the game tends to crash. I looked all over the Internet, installed the Gentlemen of the Row mod, tried a bunch of different methods from various different sources and I just can't make the game more stable. Some commenter on Steam said "Just don't go clothing shopping." and I'm sorry but that's not a solution for me.
It's a great game when it runs and it seems that most people are very fond of it but personally, I just don't have the patience to restart my game over and over just to pick a new outfit.

The Unfinished Swan is a creative walking sim that has something oddly nostalgic about it, kinda like reading a picture book as a child and imagining yourself into the hero's shoes, seeing strange and enchanting things happening around you while barely taking action yourself. It has a great art style and the story is both sad and uplifting, which i think makes this game special, but i can't say that it would keep me invested for longer than 20 mins at a time. Definitely give it a try if you're into this type of gameplay, I might didn't exactly love it but it's an adorable game with a bitter sweet story to tell.

This game has been an absolute surprise to me. I adore CD Project Red's Witcher series, so when I first heard that they're planning to develop this game, I wasn't very happy about that. I wanted more Witcher games, not some random future thing.
When they released the first 45 mins gameplay trailer, I was impressed but i still didn't really care. I didn't have much interest, I never even heard of Cyberpunk before, and i felt that even though the game had a beautiful presentation, it would probably not be that special. I continued following the development and there were a lot of things I didn't like, just judging from their marketing. One of my biggest issues were the general tone of the in game dialog and that they casted Keanu Reeves' face into the game. Did not like that at all but I still kept my eyes peeled, I started to get the feeling that it might still turn out to be interesting at the very least. So, as you can tell, i wasn't part of the hype but i trusted CDPR and that they'd deliver a game as impressive as their Witcher games, at the very least. Then, the game released and everyone just lost their shit.
I gotta be honest, i thought it was hilarious, the glitches and bugs, it was a delight to see all these YouTube videos bashing the game. However, i felt a little disappointed. I actually thought, they'd make something competent. Who knows what happened during development and what possessed them to release the game in such state but it was not something I'd expected CDPR to deliver. So I decided to wait and see once again. A year later, the big 1.5 patch wass released and I decided now was the time. All I can say is something in the lines of "oh my fuck".
This game has been the most impressive, thought-provoking and unique experience I've ever had the pleasure to encounter. Not only is the story out of the mind of a cyborg madman, the characters, the city, the tone and presentation, it all comes together beautifully, immersing you into this strange yet familiar parallel universe where corporations rule the earth with iron fists and people live their lives, knowing that someone might kidnap them to steal their brainchips or robot arms on the way to the corner store.
The story kicks off with a slow day in Night City, just trying to get by in this strange new world, and with each mission, everything just gets weirder and weirder until you're not even sure what you really want anymore. Survival? Principles? Friendship? Or nothing at all?
I could go on and on about how impressed I am but obviously, there are also downsides. It is not a perfect game and even after a year of bug fixes, there are still plenty of issues. I personally experienced mostly visual glitches, which, to be fair, are still pretty funny but it did take away from my immersion. My love interest was absolutely broken (I went for River) and I couldn't even interact with him after his quests, making me feel robbed of any meaningful interaction with him.
That being said, even if the game ran as intended, I felt like there was a deep issue with Night City itself. There is this huge, bustling city you find yourself in and you can barely do anything. No clubs, no pubs, no restaurants, no animations for eating or drinking unless it's scripted, no cinema or any other form of entertainment. Sure, there are some food stands, a few clubs you can actually visit because of some quest givers, and some buildings that are available thanks to gigs but I often found myself wishing that there was just a bit more to experience than work and the main quest. Even if it's shallow, it would have been better than nothing. That and the fact that the main story line is actually pretty fucking short made it still feel like a bit of a let down.
If you don't want to play this game, that's absolutely cool. CDPR fucked up and they should pay the prize for that. But you can also tell that the people working on this game are absolutely talented and passionate and despite its shortcomings, they still managed to create something I've truly never seen before. Cyberpunk is what you want it to be, if you're willing to give it an honest shot, you might fall in love with it or hate it, but i think it deserves a second chance simply for being so strange and special, and truly one of the funniest botched releases of our time.

A relatively fresh take on a pretty overused concept.
I first played the demo, not really knowing what to expect, and found myself being sucked into the gameplay real quick. It's not really a game that challenges the life simulation genre with new twists and turns but it does offer some features that I didn't know I wanted until I got to experience them. One of these features is the holiday system, I think it's so much more interactive than in games such as Stardew Valley and I liked that they included some holidays I haven't really seen before. I also really appreciate the friendship/dating system that allows you to meet with villagers for a rendezvous and do different activities together or, if you're really close, take them for a ride or walk around town. It made me more interested in befriending others and I always looked forward to these little meetings.
The town feels alive, with NPCs following their daily schedules and having their own little social circles and backstories, I often was surprised by the amount of things I was able to learn about each villager just by talking to them.
The social events and quests are often a delight, though some might feel repetitive, others really challenge you and how much you can produce in your workshop. I was glad to learn that farming is not mandatory in this game because it really is one of my least favourite aspects of any life sim and it's not very fleshed out in this game either.
Personally, I enjoy this game just as much, if not more, as other, well established life sims and if you can get it cheap, you should definitely consider trying it. Now, it's not completely bug free and some gameplay aspects, such as combat and mining, are less desirable in my opinion, but if you're able to overlook these points, you'll have a sweet, fulfilling little game that might end up keeping you busy for months.

Kenshi is very special to me. Ever since I laid eyes upon this weird masterpiece, I've been obsessed with its world and gameplay. The character creator is pretty unique, letting you choose things like how crooked your character's back is and in what pose they stand, as well as offering very interesting races that all have their own lore and interactions. Depending on what race and/or gender you choose, different factions within the game will treat you differently and you'll often find that making friends is much harder than making enemies.
The world within the game is a cruel wasteland, populated by fanatics, bandits and slave traders, as well as scary monsters and giant lasers shooting from the sky. I can't even begin couting the amount of times my little troop of misfits and I have run for our dear lives, trying to make it to the next city without getting eaten or kidnapped.
Success is not handed to you and making enough money to pay for your next meal can be quite stressful, especially at the beginning. You'll have to train long and hard, if you're decent enough, you can make a living as a hunter or by turning in criminals. But desperate times will need desperate measures and selling people into slavery or getting others killed by guards to loot their corpses is often the easy way out. Generally speaking, it's always more difficult to be a good person rather than taking advantage of poorer and weaker people around you.
The world is constantly changing, whether you're around or not, with faction fighting their own wars against each other and patrolling through the areas, and you're most definitely not the chosen one who they'll turn to. You'll have to prove yourself first, make a name for yourself and do favours, just so they even consider your existence. If you're really strong and have the right people behind you, you can actually change the political climate within the game and go as far as banishing some and advancing others. And, if you're organised enough, you can even establish your city and become your own faction.
This and more awaits you within this game and I can't recommend it enough to anyone who's hungry for something new and refreshing. That being said, here come the cons.
The graphics are not good, and I mean, really not nice to look at. They do the job and I personally have actually grown to appreciate them, but it's a fairly new game and it looks like it came out in 2005. The gameply is extremely slow and hard and while that should be considered a feature, it definitely makes it a game not everyone can enjoy. The learning curve is steep and even after playing for 70h, I've still not learned everything there is to know and honestly, I'm not even close to becoming a proper faction member. The game is as brutal as its world and being sold to slavery has happened to me more than once, often setting me back, and I sadly have lost many companions in my pursuit of greatness.
If you're out for a hardcore adventure with no quests and an alien world, this game might be the next big thing for you. If you don't have the time or the patience, it's probably best if you look for something else to play, because it's as pleasant as eating nails for breakfast, yet so addicting.

I've played quite a few Otomes throughout my life and there has always been an issue that bothered me - where is the sex? There usually is never any sex, there is a build up and you can feel tensions rising but then it fades to black and the rest is in your imagination. Bullshit, if you ask me.
So with that being said, if you ever had the same itch as me, this game will certainly scratch it. It doesn't really take itself seriously and I don't think you're supposed to think too hard about the story but the writing is fairly decent and the characters are fun and likeable. The game doesn't really shy away from cursing and such, which is always a plus for me. The game itself is not very long and you'll probably finish it within 7-10h, if you go for both routes and the secret threesome option, which was my least favourite, btw. So if you're thinking about giving it a try, definitely try to get it on a sale and make the best of it.
It's short, it's fun and it is slightly more daring than your typical "weak girl" otomes.

This game feels very inspired by Minecraft but don't make the mistake of thinking it's just a clone. The game features a whole campaign, it has quests and a main story, and while you can still do whatever you like, you're encouraged to focus on rebuilding a city. That's where it gets good.
The more quests you fulfill, the more recipes and villagers you unlock, the more weapons and tools you get, the more areas and terrains you get to explore, it's seemingly endless. I really enjoy the feeling of progression and it seems like there's always something to do. The only part I don't enjoy just as much is the combat, it can feel a little weird and clunky sometime and to me, it's almost impossible to get out of a fight without getting hit.
Other than that, if you enjoy the Survival-Builder genre, definitely consider giving it a try. It's crazy addicting and might keep you occupied for a very long time.

This is the definiton of what you get when you buy a DS game for 5 Euros.

The thing I like the most about this game is the historical context. I just recently learned that it's (semi) based on real events and that made me appreciate the game a little more than before.
The artstyle is absolutely gorgeous, I personally love the look of all the characters, and the writing is fairly decent. There are some minor spelling mistakes here and there, nothing too terrible. The story lines are alright for the most part, though I personally found it kinda hard to get through the first few chapters. There is little romance until the very end and the main character is just so incompetent. I often wished that she could just learn how to fight or do anything helpful besides standing around and crying.
Is this game a must-play though? I don't think so. It's a very popular franchise and I do think that people who generally enjoy Otomes will have a fairly good time but I also think that there are better games out there.

I have a pretty straightforward relationship with Pokémon, generally speaking. Old games, good, new games, bad, so when i saw the trailer for Scarlet and Violet, i scoffed. I don't usually buy the new games. I borrowed Shield from the library and even that was too expensive in my book. What a waste of life, i thought. I'd rather play anything else.
Ultimately, i heard of the multiplayer function in Violet and since i found it relatively cheap online, i did end up giving it a go. And man, I'm glad i did. This game is so much fun!
It's very obvious that Gamefreak was "inspired" by Breath of the Wild and while you'd think that this concept would start getting old by now, it actually does wonders for the gameplay. The world feels so large and i just can't stop exploring. I love how you can hang out with your Pokémon at any time, i love to picknick with them, i love to take a spin on my mount and just see what's next. Which pokémon i can catch, what trainers i can fight or what shops i can go check out.
What's not so great are the performance issues and graphics. Nothing new for the series, i know, but annoying nonetheless. The game also doesn't feel very challenging. There are people who hate that, i personally think it's not that big of an issue, just don't expect a long and difficult experience.
All in all, it's decent. I almost feel like I'm playing pokémon ruby on my sky blue GBA, back when i was a little baby, not quite sure what to expect next in my grand adventure but eager to find out.
