I love everything about the set up, concept, and setting. A crew of people who are not only constantly chased by death but also constantly back-stabbing and offing each other for reason's that go beyond anyone's understanding, I live for that. And the set up of having to find the identity and solve the fates of everyone aboard the ship is something that appeals to me greatly. Add to that the incredible aesthetic and music, and I'm in.

One thing I was kind of disappointed by in this game is how much it pushes you to go through the whole story, rather than stop and observe memories at your own pace. Of course you have the option to do that, but visual and music cues basically tell you to stop and move on to the next scene, and forced to go through the motions of following the cloud to the next scene. But on the other hand having all the scenes unlocked is more convenient for solving cases, so I understand why but it's not how I would have preferred it.

When you pay enough attention to catch someone's name, notice relationships between crew members based on how often they appear next to each other, the clothing they were, what people standing next to each other in a picture have in common, learning about a position on the ship to deduce who holds that position, making discoveries like this is when the game is at it's peak. It takes a while to get "good" at, but eventually I found myself solving stuff at a really satisfying pace, and the feeling I got when something that felt like a hunch with not that much supporting evidence ended up being true was incredible. The story itself is in the genre of "everything that could go wrong does go wrong and everyone is powerless to stop it", which I enjoyed, and the way you learn it is really cool.

Another complaint is that a bit too often I ran into the problem of finding out how certain members die to be a bit too specific, sometimes what I felt like was correct was in fact correct but I just picked a slightly different terminology. Also, the last third or fourth of the game starts to feel a bit more like a guessing game as information gets more scarce, but they are still educated guesses in that I had to eventually start separating topmen from seamen, but I wish I didn't end up doing so much "switch the names until the game tells me I'm right".

Overall still a very cool and fun experience despite some gripes I had, glad I finally picked this up.
