Beware, this game does not cover the entire Hobbit movie trilogy and instead ends exactly where the second movie does. A DLC for this game that covers the third movie was cancelled, and as a result, the game is, and worst of all feels, incomplete.

It's also poorly optimized, riddled with game-breaking glitches that require frequent restarts, and a few bugs that can only be fixed by playing on a TV (not sure why).

Despite all of this, I still had fun exploring Middle Earth and doing some of the repetitive side quests. The art style is a pleasing blend of Lego plastic goodness mixed with "realistic" looking environments. This blend makes them look like those old Lego TV commercials where they show the whole toy set assembled in a forest or by a river.

My main issues with this game are how often it breaks, the quality of the dialogue audio which was lifted from the movies, and how repetitive it gets after a few hours.

If you've played any Lego movie tie-ins, you've played them all. This game is for people that enjoyed the movies, want to explore an interesting version of Middle Earth, enjoy collectathons, or want something to play with the kids. This is a game targeted at kids and its overall lack of difficulty shows that.
