really neat little experience with a killer ost and phenomenal art design. the combat isnt very fun though and i feel the stamina bar is too small, but other than that (and the lack of checkpoints) a very worthwhile game, especially since its free and all lol

They did it again folks, the worst assault rifle in gaming returns...

While i enjoyed my time overall more with the first game, this one aint too shabby itself. In fact, id say its pretty damn solid, if not a little too long.

technically, i ADORED this game. the part i loved the most was all the small engine touches like how how when you get close to a wall or tree, lara will push off it. or how when you get close to a fire, she'll turn towards it to keep warm. all these little touches and details really make the world and lara feel real. also really liked the general lighting and water/wet effects on the clothing.

in terms of the game play, it most definitely feels better in some parts (climbing and general traversal mainly), but i didnt enjoy using the guns as much and rarely found myself ever using the bow over the silenced handgun. the shotgun felt weaker this time around sadly, and the assault rifle is still one of the worst in gaming. the melee felt WAY better this time around however which i appreciated which brings me to my next point... the stealth in this game is WAY better and overall a blast to pull off compared to the first. i found myself restarting encounters and going out of my way just to do segments as stealthy as possible due to the sheer amount of options and ways to tackle a situation which i endlessly enjoyed, it almost in a way reminded me of mgs 5.
however, shifting over to the other aspects of the game play...
the platforming was most certainly improved this time around, and i loved some of the open segments that would allow you to explore and do small side quests, but largely i didnt find myself enjoying the overall experience as much as the first game. for starters, i miss the variety. tomb raider had a lot of cool segments that mixed up the game play switching from action, to horror, to stealth constantly to prevent the game from ever just becoming shoot and shoot and shoot (which this game pretty much only does outside of one or two moments, which rock too be fair). I also found A LOT of the puzzles in this game to be very confusing and infuriatingly unfun at times, youtube was my bff for sure. also lara was pretty unlikable this time around

I was a big fan of the "survival" aspects of this game, i just wish it would of went harder. i wish you needed to occasionally eat or at least get a buff for making food, replace bandages maybe. maybe have it where when you get wet, other than acting cold it actually debuffs you until you get dry or something to that effect. maybe have clothing matter and a camo system like mgs 3 depending on the outfits since it felt like a system only really added to sell dlc costumes.

The story in this game was... alright, i didnt enjoy it nearly as much as 1. i liked aspects of it and the characters were nice but it overall was pretty predictable... like... VERY predictable. doesnt mean i didnt still like it, just wasnt as campy and fun as the first.

all in all though, if you liked the first game, this game is a must play. i enjoyed it a lot more than i didnt, and although it was disappointing they didnt improve too much off the first i still had a very pleasant time. in any other scenario i would say this game is a 4/5 but with the existence of the first i just cant rate it as high

i feel too old to be playing this game...
and i'm a Nintendo fan.

one of the best osts of all time, only rivaled by deltarune

had an absolute blast with this game! not to say its not without its issues, but more than not i really really enjoyed my time. the music, visuals, and gameplay hold up SO well considering its age/era. i loved the constant gameplay style switching, one second its a stealth game, the next its uncharted, then its resident evil. that kind of constant variety really helped from letting the game feel too stale or repetitive.
the story was a lot of fun! its kinda cheesy and nothing ground breaking or deep but for what it is, and what the game is, it was engaging enough and very enjoyable.

to the things i was a little less fond of, some of the puzzles were just not very good/intuitive. i had to resort to youtube quite a few times and seeing other people also complaining in the comments, i know im not alone in this sentiment.
the gunplay was kinda 50/50 for me, granted i was on the hardest difficulty but i feel outside the bow and shotgun, none of the guns really felt very good. i almost never used the machine gun, even after upgrading it, i just didnt enjoy the way it felt. the pistol was... fine, but id rather just use the bow if i need to snipe. the shotgun was AMAZING, watching people fly back 50 feet ragdolling was 10/10, also the bow was a fuck ton of fun, especially for the stealth segments.
i like the idea of the upgrade system, but it mostly just feels padded and useless. even the cool combat upgrades like the melee and dodge striking i found mostly not worth using and quite janky overall when i did.

all in all though, i REALLY enjoyed this game and i can super easily recommend it to anyone else looking to play uncharted but not

some funny glitches from my time

i like when you hold left analog stick forward

sound design and atmosphere are fantastic though

i thought we all agreed these kinds of games didnt need a reload?
game kinda blows, dropped at the end of chapter 1. reload is fucking ANNOYING and lead to many of my deaths. the level design is a fucking trainwreck 99% of the time. i cant even count the amount of times i got lost walking in circles and backtracking on accident while the stupid skull fuck kept telling me to hurry. the difficulty spikes in this game are absurd, one second its too easy the next youre locked in a room and expected to kill 50000 enemies with almost no health drops. i really dislike the way the chainsword locks on, it feel and looks very jank. its also generally not a tool worth using since the animation lock is so brutal, i only used it here and there for mobility since the F keys dash was useless. the weapons felt really nice, and i appreciate no hitscan but swapping weapons SUCKS, especially since you can equip weapons with no ammo. this game it too fast paced to have shit like that, i also died plenty of times trying to find the weapon i wanted. the music and aesthetic of this game are fantasitc but i hate most of the rest of it so i dont really see a point in pushing through when the game peaked in the intro cinematic

idk its fine, no real strong desire to finish it though (was on the last couple chapters so i basically played the whole game). the combat is a mixed bag, sometimes it feels great, other times it feels like dragon engine. doesnt help the tiger style fighting feels awful imo. story was fine enough, but the missions were getting real grating. only so many times you can repeat the same 20 min tailing missions or drone mission, or chase mission, or look-around-room missions before it starts to get real old. its a good game 100%, i just dont really feel inclined to finish it

music and characters are 10/10 though

solid little game, not much more to add

really cool gimmick, pretty funny/clever moments, AMAZING atmosphere and visuals... ok now notice i didnt praise the puzzles in this puzzle game, what happened???
this game started off SO DAMN STRONG, but by the end it felt like i was having to refer to a guide every other puzzle. the later puzzles are just straight up not designed well/intuitively, im talking like sierra point and click levels of abstract solutions, it got absurd and just outright not fun (especially when the game was only in black and white)
also like idk man, i get what the writer was going for but i couldnt help but feel by the end the story and messaging was just too pretentious for me to care.

fantastic wrap up to the series, the fake end credits gag was 10/10. still a shame how long it takes to log/remove items from your journal but the items were more spaced out so at least it didnt feel as brutal.
all in all though the best game of the bunch easily, also gay representation in a game you love to see it

nice little experience, a great follow up :)
i really liked the journal mechanic, although the animation that would play every single time you got or lost an item got grating quickly.

also more games need to end in giant dance parties

very stupid and i loved every second of it. im surprised vinesauce joel hasnt streamed this game, i feel itd be right up his alley

maturity is realizing that persona 3 isnt the "most depressing" but actually the most hopeful persona game in the franchise.

what an absolutely beautiful game. of course it has its issues... like, PLENTY of issues, but none of them stop this game from delivering one of the most impactful and meaningful stories of any game ive played in a LONG long while.

just to list some of my biggest issues with the game really quick before i wrap up; the new music is 50/50, lotus juice is very obviously older now and it comes though. still commend him for coming back though.
the new cutscenes are mostly all inferior by quite a bit, especially the in engine ones.
the game is just TOO easy imo, i only had a bad time once or twice on bullshit bosses (the damn love hotel ugh).
some of the social links are w/e, not bad just mostly forgettable.
and speaking of writing, some of the conflict between characters in this game can feel a little arbitrary at times, junpei especially.
the game can look kinda ugly at times. the models are fantastic but the environments can be pretty comparable to the ps2 original at times lol.
just straight up, the pc port is pretty garbage. had WAY too many crashes and a weird flickering across my screen till i reset. also super weird fps issues but only sometimes? the menus were laggy as hell its very strange.

SPOILER, but to wrap up...
i feel like knowing how the game ended almost made my experience better, especially the last day. making all those empty promises him and i both knew could never be fulfilled.
