Finding out about a mechanic that I could have stumbled upon 10 hours earlier if I were more experimental is some ascended galaxy brain stuff, on one hand I can see people complaining about the game not telling them about one of the most useful combat strategies but on the other it was never necessary and serves as an excellent reward for those deeper into experimentation and for making routing replays far more expressive and open-ended.


People keep telling me the parry is trash but I honestly loved it, one of the first things I did after learning I could parry was cross a bridge guarded by one of the green-caped spearmen, where most would use bombs to get rid of this enemy I was able to just walk up to it, mash out a parry (as its timing kind of coincides with the aggro range) and take care of it quickly and with no resource use.

I think the camera is flawed occasionally but I had maybe one moment in my entire playthrough where I thought legibility of my character was outright bad, but it was for a fight where it doesn't matter that you can see your own character as you're responding to one thing that takes up half the screen. So uh, dodge when you see a giant thing swinging down lol?
