Frankly just an adorably fun game. I backed this on Kickstarted back in 2019 and I was worried that here, 4 years later, I might not still be into the humor. I'm pleased to say that the game was fun, quirky, and a joy to play.

I've seen some people say that the combat got repetitive, and I can understand that. I started to avoid fighting mobs by the last few stages, but the boss fights never ceased to be a fun time. Even the when I accidentally built myself a hardmode boss (you know him if you've played) I had a blast. The system is simple to learn, and easy to feel like you've caught the hang of. There's plenty of options to change up you style too, if you happen to feel like the game is getting a little too one note for you.

I played a couple hours a day to wind down after work, and I finished it in about a week. Seriously, just a blast of a game, I heavily recommend checking it out.

Very fun game with a good atmosphere. I think it was just starting to wear out its welcome by the time I got to the end of it, though I could easily see myself playing this off and on in the future. I think if the devs made this into just a deep sea fishing game without the fun horror elements, I would play the hell out of it. Worth buying, no doubt at all.

A borderline perfect remake of Dead Space 1. Just finished my first playthrough and I'm very much looking forward to trying out the different elements of NG+.

I enjoyed the changes made to the game, including but not limited to: Isaac being fully voiced, the inclusion of more NPC characters, and the new ways to traverse the Ishimura. The elements of gameplay that were brought in from Dead Space 2 were incredibly welcome.

On the story, I only had 2 complaints. The end of Niccole's side story played with a conflict with Isaac that felt a little forced from what we knew of the characters lives. I think I can grow to like it, but it's not quite for me. Also the death of Dr. Mercer. I very much enjoyed the way he died in the original game, it felt more thematic and appropriate to his character.

Those are honestly my only complaints. The game is gorgeous from beginning to end. The updated lighting and shadows would have been worth the purchase on their own.

Dead Space is what got me into horror media in general, so it will always hold a soft spot in my heart. I'm glad the remake was handled so thoughtfully.
