Cute little game, with surprisinly clean movement and its crazy to see the amount of character that you can squeeze into gameboy sprites. Kirby's dances at the end of levels give me life.

Biggest "flaw" is how short the game is and how easy it can be (even if I did cheese the game by using continues), but for me this instead makes it a nice game to pop in and beat in an hour, without necessarily having to deal with the annoyance that other gameboy games like Mario Land instill by booting you back to the start with their life system.

Potentially the greatest vr experience released yet. Not only is Alyx fun to play, with a captivating cycle of combat, looting and upgrading, but it's brought together through the VR medium to enhance all of these aspects.

The feel of the game and the ability for your to interact with the world with your virtual hands is phenomenal and not only sucks you into the world but heightens the gameplay. Combat is more exilerating and challenging when you have to physical crouch down to get into cover, blindfiring over a wall to where you think the enemy is. Having your hands as objects in the world, not just phasing through walls, makes the process of picking up anything, such as opening up the lid of a bucket, contributes not only to a sense of realism, but to an immensely satisfying gameplay loop. The weakness of this realism however, is in the annoyance of having to do mundane actions, such as crouching down or walking over to pick up an item. With the incorporation of the gravity gloves however this is minimised, and instead the act of picking up objects becomes immensly gratifying, flicking your wrist to summon a clip of ammo, and then depositing it over your shoulder. The feel of this game is truly its greatest achievement, and is the gold standard for VR games going forward.

The world you explore is no less interesting, level design is varied and interesting, filled with plenty to explore and puzzles to solve. Combat scenarios are inventive, varied and neatly intertwined with calmer sections of exploration and looting. The story of the game is simple, but serves effectively at pushing the player forward as well as providing interesting world building.

The only fault I find with the game is that certain areas can go on for slighly longer than they feel they should, usually in sections where you are forced to make less direct progress through the world, such as the hotel.

Some parts of it felt a little repetitive in terms of fighting the same boss over and over again, but it was really good in the second half once they've given you most of the basic power ups. Boss fights weren't too challenging, but the unique ones were quite fun, interesting and more difficult. Only somewhat disappointing part was that there weren't really any interesting puzzles related to finding upgrades
