Running away to avoid being eaten by zombies has never been scarier... The first proper experience I have gotten with the Resident Evil franchise was this wonderful gem (my first tryout was Revelations).
The opinion I have of this remake is the same as Metroid: Zero Mission is: do a complete overhaul, add nice stuff/plot, rewrite the wrongs and improve the good, a marvelous remake.
The experience with this game was truly unexpected: went blind and didn't know that there was a need to do manual saves, oh and they are limited! Was so ready to complain and had to remember myself this is survival horror, the elements I had become used to (Silent Hill 1/2 unlimited inventory space, saving whenever I wanted) were absent from this entry, but I learned to be more cautious with the use of resources and appreciated the game even more.
I started to get more scared of dying and losing 30 minutes of progress than the occasional dogs, zombies and other enemies jumpscare moments.
The soundtrack is really powerful even when there's no music playing (my personal favorite is the safe room one) when my goal was trying to avoid getting scared with the camera angles of the game, sometimes acting against me when running away from enemies.
I feel the mechanic of burning enemies is a time waster but at the same time it makes you really think which zombies should vanish forever.
The game has so many areas to explore, alternative options and different playstyles (I played with Jill because of more inventory space and fun fact: had to restart my playthrough with her because with Chris I used all my ink ribbons), settings and a creepy atmosphere that still holds to today, there are rumours that Capcom is remaking this entry in 2026 but personally think that if we had a settling point this would be it. Great and without a reason to complain: it is such a fantastic entry to new Resident Evil fans. The next installment I have on my mind is Resident Evil 0, hope to enjoy it as much as this one.

In my restless dreams, I see that town... My sweet Silent Hill, some could say I finally ended the big three of the franchise, and with a sad face I will tell you, the love for this game is huge and even if the next entries aren't as good as these three, this was THE entry to finally stop being afraid of the horror genre, also got into Resident Evil so a win-win!

Ok, without deviating too much, the story was weaker even if it connected dots to the happenings of 17 years ago, Silent Hill 1, but a solid story nonetheless.

This game is so freaking scary, you start the game and already encountering the huge sleeve monsters and the pendulums, I call them the beyblades (thought they were only the bosses of some part when I watched a trailer on YouTube.)

And while the game ended quickly, each session completed made the ending closer, can't say it was rushed, but there is less room to breath here you go from section to section and can't catch a break (less town exploration!), compared to the calm parts of SH1 / SH2 which made me more relaxed, this is without a doubt the scariest one I've played so far (just sweating thinking about SH4), the Otherworld parts followed by the soundtrack and monster noises really made me poop better the following days.

The perception of a game by the gaming community affects my ability to see it, this is why I tend to avoid seeing many reviews before submitting my thoughts here. Love Silent Hill 1, Silent Hill 2 (kudos for the team that made the Enhanced project for PC) and Silent Hill 3. I wish to have played this franchise so much sooner, and the nostalgia given for playing the PS3 HD Collection crappy version on the PS4's PS+ cloud streaming for some minutes gave a glimpse of what was awaiting. Hope this isn't the end, I want to keep enjoying the next Silent Hill entries. Silent Hill 4: The Room, don't fail me. Send me with the final love letter from the fantastic and creative, Team Silent.

My second dive into the Resident Evil series came after completing RE1 (Remake) a few weeks ago, which I rated 4.5 stars. I enjoyed RE0 more than I should. (after going back and forth between 3,5 and 4 stars I gave it 4 now, bear with me.)
This time, I was prepared for manual saves and ink ribbon usage, having learned from my previous experience. The abundance of ink ribbons and the fact the game felt shorter made it easier.
The game's low average rating on Backloggd can be attributed to one mechanic of the game: inventory management. With two characters mostly together, we have 12 item slots, yet shotguns and the hookshot take up 2 slots each, causing frustration in managing health items, key items, ammo, and weapons. It's a juggling act between carrying essential items and risking leaving them behind, leading to backtracking. Losing item boxes while gaining the ability to leave items on the ground seemed like a trade-off, but why not have both? For me this is just a minor complaint due to each section having quick acesses, but can understand why many people hate.
Another componente lies in the reliance on two partners throughout the game. While their chemistry and mutual assistance add depth, certain puzzles, like the one at the Treatment Plant, raise questions. Why couldn't Billy carry Rebecca on his back instead of going through the trouble of finding a battery for the forklift to get the magnetic card? Just rambling, lol.
Survival horror elements felt diluted compared to RE1 Remake, with less emphasis on ammo conservation. The absence of the Crimson Heads made the game easier. Although the fuel canteen added survival elements, they weren't here, kill the zombies, they're dead forever.
As a prequel, the story offers some plot points but I feel this entry shouldn't be your first experience to the series. Also! Certain enemies, like the apes, frogs, and Mimicry Marcus are frustratingly unbearable.
While gameplay similarities with RE1 are appreciated, I desired a stronger presence in the soundtrack and atmosphere. Despite these critiques, RE0 remains a good game overall. My next step? RE2 Remake, with high hopes for an even better experience.

One of the very best Mario games and videogames in general. The gameplay is butter sweet. The moons were fun to get and the kingdoms were great, post-game is also great, everything is charming. I hope we get a sequel or another 3D mainline game after so many years.

The wonder flowers change everything, I loved every level of it.

I liked it, gives me LittleBigPlanet world 5 vibes, and I don't know if the game was supposed to make me feel scared, if so it failed (but it's ok). I actually enjoyed the big scary dudes after me, I think it played safe in the platforming sequences.

Hope Little Nightmares II gives me more of a kick to the franchise.

A trip to Silent Hill I will never forget, my bias wanted to rate this game higher, legendary music and an atmosphere unparalled to what I've played of horror so far (almost nothing, I'm building my treshold of not getting so scared playing horror games, lol.)

The plot made me desperate to save Harry's daughter Cheryl with all my strengths, I loved to walk around the streets of Silent Hill, immerse myself in the fog, but at the same time it made me feel extremely uneasy running away from weird enemies who were trying to kill me.

Found the story easy to understand but while writing this review I have not witnessed the other endings, I got a bad ending due to missing a item and not entering a building in which I did not know the code apparently, it's not gonna make me wanna replay the game.

I regret using my ammo with pointless street enemies, really struggled with Cybil Bennett monster boss fight which I finally learned to maneuver myself with the melee weapons.

Since I got the bad ending, had to fight The Incubator in which I didn't even have enough ammo to defeat the boss and the area before the boss didn't have any meaningful ammo (and guess, this guy didn' t get the rifle), unfortunately had to turn on an infinite ammo cheat on my Duckstation emulator to finish the boss fight, I hated the ending, wasn't what I was looking for, but oh well, YT will help me on that one.

I will look back into this as a truly unique experience and while I don't play the Silent Hill 2 masterpiece, I will foundly remember my Silent Hill moments for life.

The logic of some puzzles didn't make any sense to me: (piano and zodiac signs)

So here I go with my review of the game, we start with players trying to unravel the plot as they navigate the quirky town of Springfield, investigating a mysterious conspiracy and working to save the beloved community from chaos and mayhem. (I am not going to talk about it much so I don't spoil the game to no one).

I don't know if I could have finished it if I was younger though. But it's certainly not what I used to remember when playing this at a friend's house when I was younger, for sure.

The developers did a good job of doing the recreation of the iconic Springfield, capturing the show's humor and charm. We see many references to the show, and the fun starts from kicking Marge in the beginning to the very end game credits!

The game is an open world though it's limited depending on what level you are, so the map is not fully connected without use of mods. The game is 90% driving and you can do the main quests (more on that later), the bonus mission, collect cards, destroy mechanical bees (wtf?), and get chasen by the cops, but I might add that there are occasional frame drops during the parts cops chase you down.

Graphics look pretty good for the time (I'm playing via PCSX2 on Steam Deck with 2x resolution) and they made Springfield vibrant with their characters and the voice actors look spot on, the soundtrack is great and the car rides get better with that. (it comes with its easter eggs of course, that I didn't get all of them but oh well!)

Ok now I wanna get to the not so good part, I think the main quests are repetitive to the point the game is mocking you. (the 3 last missions of the game say it all).

The game shows its biggest weakness here, the missions are based on the following: follow / destroy / flee from the car, go against it to pick items and get to locations / characters. Rinse and repeat, sigh. I was really enjoying the game at the beginning until I picked the formula they were using here, was it budget? Oh and everything is timed just for the sake of making the game harder (no problem with that except when you design a mission to almost be picture perfect and spawn a truck in front of the end line, I'm looking at you level 6 mission 6!).

If I find the main quests repetitive (and the story made me question why I'm doing this and that), every bonus level, mechanical bee destroyed, or card you find doesn't provide unique content to make it worth to 100% unfortunately. The collectibles didn't make me more eager to explore Springfield, except when I needed the coins to buy an outfit or vehicle mandatory to progress in the game. Though I need to say, besides the game limiting you to 1/3 of the map constantly and each of those parts looking like a racing track with shortcuts, the parts you fly on the ramps are sick dude.

Talking a little about the good and less good parts about the game.

Pros:

- A love letter / A good representation to the Simpsons fans.

- Driving is great.

Cons:

- Everything is timed for the sake of being timed

- Quests are repetitive to the point you question what you are doing (before and during the quest) why do I need to do you a favor for you to speak, that the next person is the one I actually needed and so on? (minor complaint)

I don't wanna go that way, but this is the GTA III / "the GTA for kids" clone as intended, and while I think they could have done more interesting stuff with the platforms and such, they couldn't really include some weapons or dare I say gadgets in this? But you can kick kids. (also the fact people drive you around when you are stealing cars is hilarious).

To conclude, the repetitiveness ruins a little bit of the game with everything being timed, the quality of the quests too but hey I give it a 7 because they did a great job giving Springfield characters some representation and the driving is smooth for the most part, and 20 years later still considered the best game of the franchise (that really says something about the quality of the games, huh?) if you're not a fan of The Simpsons or you have an already set standard for your open-worlds I wouldn't recommend it. The game is a little outdated but this is how I feel in regards to it in general.

For a 5 min game it has a little fun music going and the dinossaur taking so much work to do a simple task and getting all mixed up and getting zero appraisal, thank god they did this with dinosaurs.

As someone who has ADHD symptons, the part with the book with all those things showing, man I really felt it.

The game is short and sweet, I didn't wanna rate it but a 3 stars will be a good time spent overall.

Enjoyed it more than the first one, the skipping to past and future parts for me are just unneccessary, weird obstacle placement is mostly out and it gives more charm to the game, it was fun.

The expectations were high, since I already had played a little bit from the original game, and boy... This remake's certainly the complete package. Without delving too much into the story: Samus is selected by the Galactic Federation to an important mission: infiltrate planet Zebes, defeat those damn Space Pirates, the mechanical life-form, Mother Brain, and exterminate all Metroid organisms.

The story's fine, giving enough interest to know more of the lore, but I'm here for the gameplay: Top!! If you compare to the counterpart, from running, jumping and shooting, everything is smooth/responsive and feels like in the right place, while the original (from 1986) shows a real need for an 'update' and this really accomplished. Gamers like me that are more used to the modern Metroidvanias should be really happy with this one (a wonderful GameBoy Advance game, might I say). They added some QOL features, the map being the most important in my opinion, didn't felt very lost playing, the soundtrack is great and the atmosphere is perfect, giving the creepy vibe, that you are by yourself against all the crazy monsters. Didn't find the boss battles that hard, just a couple of tries and nailed the strategy, would like if they added more bosses to this version.

The Metroidvania aspect is almost perfect, by the end of the game I felt like a God and the upgrades just made sense and giving a sense and purpose to backtrack and get some hidden collectibles (in which I add: was not the best to find some of them) A fast travel option between areas would be appreciated but this is a 2004 game and could affect the game's exploration since it's a short one, just saying this because I died some times and would be playing for 30 min and make zero progress due to save point being far back, but more like a me problem that didn't take much enjoyment off.

My pros for the game are the gameplay, atmosphere and power-ups and fast travel options and more content (while that new area was so cool and different) would be my improvements needed. I really enjoyed the game, would love more incentive to keep playing it post game, the images (if you know, you know) didn't make me want to play it more, aside from some areas that I will reach using the new powers to get to them, don't have interest to 100% or do those crazy requirements to complete the gallery.

This was a very cool one and I rate it 9/10, next stop: Samus Returns!

Everyone's Tanooki! Great levels even for the 3DS hardware limitations, gotta try the special levels now. It's a very solid game you won't regret to try it out.

For a game so old, oh boy does it have it all... Played it on season mode and the gameplay sets it apart even from the current counterparts, I would love to have played this back in the time for sure.

The feel for each character is so rich, my favorite thing is doing botched Shooting Star Presses with Lesnar! The match flow, the move variety, I can say for sure this is one of the best wrestling games I have ever played!

Really tried to like this one, but maybe I'm not really into Tetris games

Fun game, with repetitive Toad houses and no point in getting all the stars, also seems to get some stars you need to go out of your way to get specific powerups, except that it's a good time.
