While not as spectacular as the first Alan Wake, I did enjoy my time with this. Instead of tightly controlled linear paths to follow it has 3 large levels you can wander around. They aren't the most exciting, but I like that the game wants you to explore to find the manuscript pages.
The plot is pretty thin, but getting to see more of the adversarial relationship between Wake and Mr. Scratch is totally my jam, and I think will pay off more in Alan Wake 2.
I also really enjoyed the NPC characters and the whole framing of this being a Night Springs episode. All in all I think if you go into this game with the understanding that it is a smaller experience you can really enjoy yourself.

I loved this game. It absolutely nails the eerie atmosphere of walking in the woods at night. I loved the town of Bright Falls and the various people you run into. The Ending and the DLC continuing the story of Alan Wake's no good very bad week. I'm so excited to see the things Remedy has for me in the next few games of the Remedy-verse. Don't sleep on this game, it really is something special.
