This was honestly one if not my most anticipated game of the year after playing through the game. I can see how massive the game is and there was a lot to do and explore, which after beating I honestly felt like I just stretched the surface. With the story, there were a lot of highs that I honestly enjoyed with Ichiban being determined to find his mother, to Kiryu wrapping where he is in life. However, my problem was there was curtain development that honestly, I wasn't really into, and some aspects of the story that I honestly felt iffy about. However other than the issues that I had with some plot points and some decisions I had so much fun playing the game, with the improvement that put on the gameplay I just couldn't stop playing. Once I got to the end of the story, I just couldn't put it down and with the big side objective with Sujimon and Dondoko, I know there is a lot I'll be able to go back to. I'm honestly curious about what RGG decides to do with the franchise either with the spin-off or the follow-up.

So, I got to play the previous game from the franchise from a Ps Plus free game, and I had a lot of fun playing it, but it was one of those experiences where the gameplay stood out more than anything else. To come to the next game there was a lot that the game improved and then once coming out of it I felt mixed then the last game. The big focus was the world map and while it felt massive there seemed to be depth. The problem I felt was there wasn't really much enjoyment traveling this map, like I can see the many ways I can approach my task the point of getting to points A & B was annoying, and from a stealth game, trying not to get caught was an issue. Also, the enemy spotting you instantly at any moment you get caught was annoying, and instead of feeling like I could improvise and just approach the task a different way I had to restart my last auto-save. Overall, I think the game was fun but for me, there were some holes in the design whether it was me or the way the level was designed I felt like at some points I had fun and at some, I had to be picky and decide whether or not to restart.

To be honest I've been sitting on this review for a bit. Because, after revisiting the previous Arkham games with a newer perspective I knew very well I had to revisit this game. That wasn't the problem I very much enjoy this game a lot more than most people and tend to typically revisit it on a yearly base. The fear was me thinking well this remain my favorite game in the series, and the revisit show me something important. The gameplay is literally perfect, (expect the tank shaped elephant in the room) the flaw that showed itself was mainly the plot and specifically how the villains aren't treated particularly the main one. He is not much of a threat except for specific moments and some pacing issues stood out for me. But other than those flaws I still had fun and surprisingly 100% the story and got a steal on the season pass. This is a great game but honestly, the holes that this games show is more present for me now.
