One of my biggest regrets (as far as gaming goes) is that I did not appreciate and play this game more when it came out. I didn't even take the time to play through its campaign until just over 7 years after its release.

I honestly had a lot more fun doing the base-building than the combat. I wish there was more stuff to make, though. It felt like my cult leveled up very fast, and I ran out of things to unlock fairly quickly. I had only beaten half of the bosses at that point, too. It might've been because of how much time I spent doing the base-building stuff.
Regardless, I really enjoyed my time with this game. I love the art style, and the soundtrack is good. :)

They changed up the rules, so now it's almost exactly like Risk of Rain 2, except it's 2D. The old rules are still available to those who wish to play by them, so that's nice. I still prefer 3D over 2D when it comes to these games, but it's still a ton of fun.
I appreciate that this is a bit more challenging than the original. I remember flying through that with little to no difficulty, but Returns is proving to be less of a pushover, so it requires more skill and brain power, which I like.

I'm sure it doesn't hold up as well today, but man, I played this just as much as the original Star Wars: Battlefront II back in the day. I absolutely adored both games.
