Nice list! If I may suggest another one, go with The Messenger by Sabotage Studio. It is a love letter to Ninja Gaiden, but it does a lot to stand on its own. Very fun game.

Really appreciate this early critique. I was concerned Supergiant wouldn’t address valid criticisms of the first game due to its success. I do want to give Hades II a shot after it comes out since I like their procedural narrative idea and want to give them another chance at doing it right, so perhaps I’ll wait for a discount. Out of curiousity, what did you think of the story so far?
