As I worked my way through the forbidden lands, slowly killing each colossus, I knew somehow I was making a mistake. Apart just Wander and Arvo, the Colossus are the only creatures on the map. Slowly we wipe away this last sparkle of life in the attempt to save the lady at the alter. My heart hurts for Wander, knowing he had to sacrifice his soul in order to bring her back, but the return of nature signifies a new beginning for both the lady, Wander and the Forbidden Lands. My time with this game wasn't perfect, but it has left a lasting impression. To face a beast so mighty to save someone you love...

I am 130 hours in. I dropped the game in early August because of school and work. I didn't have the energy or the time to dive back into Hyrule again. This week I found some time to get back into Tears of the Kingdom and folks WE ARE SO BACK. I know a lot of people have felt the magic wear off the game as time passes but it all feels new to me. Taking a break is exactly what I needed, and I am itching to play every chance I get. The game is near perfect, with some story issues typical of 2010s Zelda and a few unanswered questions (that apparently won't be solved in DLC. WHERE IS KASS NINTENDO?) But even with all that said, I think I have a new favorite game :^)

That was really cute! I wish every company released a well polished lighthearted visual novelle for April Fool's Day! Favorite part was learning that Shadow loves his coffee beans only, eaten with a spoon. That is so stupid and edgy haha, everyone is written very well and it made me smile :D

You can't hold a candle to Zelda...Aside from minor story complaints (curse you NOA Dubbing Team!) this is the gaming experience I have been desperately waiting for

Main Thoughts:
I feel really bad giving this game such a low score. The world is charming with a bonkers premise but unfortunately I developed terrible motion sickness while playing. I tried resting, blue light glasses, water, food, even medication. But nothing seemed to help, and there were no settings that could alleviate the sickness. Because of this I had to cut my time short with the game. Great potential, but motion sick gamers beware!

Main Thoughts:
Games like this are more akin to visual concerts, less about the mechanics and gameplay and more about the visuals and music. The atmosphere this game creates in whimsical and breathtaking, but knows how to make you fear the ocean.

Other Thoughts
My favorite moments in the game were swimming with the whales and swimming through the golden kelp forests. The scale and colors reminded me why I have always been enamored with the ocean.

When the end credits rolled I thought to myself "this reminds me of "How to Train Your Dragon" only to discover that ERIC WHITACRE was included in the special thanks. Crazy.

The people that made this game clearly love the ocean, and now so do I <3
