I don't easily become attached to characters, so my favorites might not be very diverse. But I'm sure more will be added when I get the time to play more RPGs. Edelgard von Hresvelg
By far the most captivating presence in a Fire Emblem game. Edelgard's ideologies and character deeply resonate with me. Edelgard has a well developed character arc that is thoroughly built-up and impactful where the game doesn't relent showing how her traumatic experiences have so much of an impact on her or highlighting her more questionable acts and how that affects her. She is also a powerful axe-wielding badass with an immaculate design and can be an adorable dork sometimes.
She is easily the greatest fictional character of all time for me .

Strong and badass women are always dear to me, but I really loved her section in the game and enjoyed playing as her the most. I also like sassy characters in general (she is in a way kinda similar to Kaine but with a much better character design).

Leliana
The spymaster that most are scared of. Leliana is a person who has led a brutal life, scarred in the worst ways imaginable. Despite all the tragedy she endured, she was still able to find beauty in the world around her. This is one of the many reasons why she will always be my favorite Dragon Age character and love interest in Origins.

Female Byleth Eisner
Byleth may seem like a bland self-insert to some, but to me, she's a badass mercenary with subdued emotions. It's satisfying to see her regain her emotions throughout the game. Watching her reclaim her heartbeat and thus humanity in the Crimson Flower route feels like the perfect conclusion to her arc. For me it adds a whole new layer of depth and completeness to the story.
So I'm forever salty she's a silent protagonist in this game. I may not have been a fan of Three Hopes, but hearing a fully voiced Byleth was just really cathartic and deepened my love for her.

Lucina took it upon herself to become a beacon of hope for the remaining resistance against the fell dragon and with raw determination and vigor rallies her people in the hopeless situation. I just love strong and determined women.

Honestly, there's not much else to say here other than that he was the first badass character I ever saw in gaming. He's the epitome of what a cool ninja should be.

Awesome picks, #1 is not surprising, but I think it's cool for you to have a character you can relate so much to! Also nice to see some A2 love instead of 2B.

I think my fav in automata at least in my replay was 9S but as a whole, I much prefer the gestalt cast and honestly consider them my favorite JRPG cast ever. Good list tho, glad to see majima as an honorable mention
@NOWITSREYNTIME17 Honestly, Kaine almost made it onto this list because I actually really like her. However, I'm just not fond of her character design, and it's kinda hard for me to look past that. But who knows, maybe someday in the near future when I replay the game (still have to 100% it), I'll change my mind and just add her.

Paragon Shepard > Renegade Shepard except for punching the reporter but that is clearly a paragon action :p
