Better than the original in every way.

Humble Games delivered again.

The only aspect I admit could be better is the inventory management. Six slots is very limiting when there are so many resources around. Granted. I finished the game FULL of ammo and healing. So I guess it's not designed to take everything... or it is, and by making you backtrack so much you're supposed to use up everything. Except I didn't run out of anything, ever.
The problem is that many of us survival horror veterans have experienced death/restart by resource scarcity. Of course we're gonna hoard everything. I'd decrease the amount of resources around and let the player have 6 slots + weapon slot and tool slot.
That said, the atmosphere is superb and by far it's strongest aspect. The gameplay is serviceable. Very reminiscent of early Survival Horror.
The story is pretty good (especially the Promise ending), but its development is kind of confusing. Most of the game you'll be pretty lost until everything falls in place at the end. Not my personal favorite storytelling approach, but fans of Evangelion will probably love it as there seems to be plenty of symbolism.
The game has lots of lore but it doesn't use it to the fullest. It plays a part mostly in puzzles, and that's fine, but I heard someone say that each type of Replika could have been a boss and finding their manuals with their weaknesses to exploit later during fights could have been a fun way to explore the setting, and I agree. I ended up not knowing the difference between many enemies/Replikas.
Overall, I think it delivers on what it promises and ends up having enough impact to become an unforgettable experience.
