Lots of people know about this game but I rarely see it being meaningfuly discussed so I'll mention the main things I liked and disliked from it.
Super Hexagon is a challenging game, but it's structured in a very smart way. Having the game be divided in three levels, each one divied in six 10 second long phases gives you short term goals which allow you to track your progress and feel encouraged to beat the considerable challenge of getting past hexagonest.
It is a shame though that while I was playing the game I was constantly getting mad at HOW THE FUCK DOES THIS NOT HAVE ANALOG CONTROLS? FUCKING PONG IN 1972 HAD ANALOG PADDLES

Every car in this game has an anime girl paintjob, what's not to love?
Well, the fact that you have to play for hours to unlock difficulties that won't put you to sleep is a big flaw, but easily avoided nowadays when saved games are easily available online.
Now, GTI Club's review scores were extremely negative back when it came out, this does make sense since it came out at the time where arcade racers without dozens of hours of content where seen as disposable trash. I of course think that that approach to game analysis is extremely flawed, especially so in such a unique title.
Like the arcade games that preceded it Supermini Festa's course design is extremely open, and the care that went into making the courses resemble their real counterparts while still feeling like cutesy miniatures is evident. Both of these factors coupled with the very distinctive handling model that mixes accesibility with some respectable depth and a roster of playable cars composed entirely of compacts make Supermini Festa stand out from most others in its genre, a big feat considering how vast the arcade racing genre is.

The artstyle and music are seriously good, I can think of games with similar styles that blend cool and cutesy but this is one of the ones that pull it off the best.
Sadly H&S also has a lot of the most common flaws in both action and roguelike games, like the terrible camera, empty rooms, attack animations that lock you in place, useless items and enemies breaking out of combos randomly which end up ruining what could have been one of the best roguelikes of its time. There's also only three levels which feel extremely drawn out so I don't think I'm finishing this one.

It would be better if it didn't sabotage itself by keeping its best feature on the new game+. And if it didn't have so many stupid instant death obstacles. And if the hitboxes were better. And if you didn't have to share the power ups between characters.
Basically it'd be way better if capcom wasn't stupid thankfully nowadays you can download patches to fix most of those problems

The camera sucks half the stages suck walljumping sucks and dying is overly punishing this is one of the best 3D platformers every made and not enough games took the right lessons from it.
The lack of a double jump or gliding and the near complete lack of air control makes platforming actually rewarding unlike most other 3D platformers. I get that the genre is mostly aimed at toddlers but kids fucking loved Mario 64 so I don't want to hear any excuses.
Mario 64 also manages to avoid the "every collectible is just lying on the ground" problem that every other collectathon including mario odyssey has by having some platforming or exploring involved behind getting most stars.
What I'm trying to say is that I fucking hate Banjo Kazooie. Bitch fuck Banjo Kazooie and its fans hope they get exactly one new game and gruntilda marries a man.
