This was a childhood game for me. I loved being in Rapture and exploring the ruined city. The gunplay is pretty great and will have you considering all your options whenever you go into a fight, especially against a Big Daddy. The story is probably the weakest element from what I remember, but it's by no means bad, it's still great actually.

This game had so much potential for a younger me. It was going around and killing big ass monsters. That sounds fun no matter how old I am. When I actually played however, I was really disappointed because it wasn't what I thought it was. Something was just off, there was barely any story which is fine but the gameplay didn't grip me either. I didn't feel triumphant when battling monsters, I felt slow. I also didn't have people to play with and that seems to be a big part of the game so I couldn't/didn't want to stick with it. It's a respectable game from an intriguing franchise, but it's unfortunately not for me.

While I haven't finished this game, I may come back to it at some point because it was actually pretty good. It has similarities in gameplay to a lot of open world games (especially Breath of the Wild), but tells a story of a culture I had never heard of before and does so in a fun way. I would recommend this game to those who want a fun indie experience that has a cultural personality that you might not have experienced before.
This game so badly wants to be different, but it thinks the way to do that is by adding a points system and being generally crude. To keep things brief, it fails. Granted the points system is a good idea, but there is nothing else really at play here. It's just a standard shooter. Hell, maybe the story is like the best thing ever. I doubt it though as it just seems like a revenge plot. I give it props because I got to listen to Steve Blum do his Wolverine voice.

This was a quaint little game. I had the thought that it was almost like a children's book played out in a video game format and I believe that was wholly intentional because if you go to the URL they say in the game, you can actually buy the story you experienced as a digital book (the hardcovers are apparently sold out which makes sense as this game is 7 years old at this point). In the end, it was a short experience that would be a good first game for someone young or who has never played a video game before.

The concept here is fun, but I didn't spend a super long time with it as it's a little boring if you play for a long enough time. You are kind of just destroying things over and over, which is great and fun, but after like 2-4 levels of doing that it lost its strength. In the end this is a fun arcade game where you play it for like 15-30 minutes and then you are done. You shouldn't be playing the entire campaign or maybe even any of the campaign since that isn't what matters about this game. The score is a 2.5 because of its nature of being an arcade game which just isn't my preferred method of play.
I dropped this game a long time ago and didn't even realize I did. It's not exactly surprising though. The first Dying Light was a good game with fun gameplay and a decent, if a little boring, story. This game just doesn't differentiate in a good way. None of the changes feel very substantial and it also just feels kind of old and outdated. Just a disappointment when you break it down which makes me not want to finish the game.
