Second GOTM finished for May 2024. I always seem to have a blast with the Wario Land games. Granted, I only played WL3 before this one, but I really enjoyed that one as well. The time trials were less enjoyable to me than the "metroid-esque" revisiting of new areas in old levels in WL3, but the level design felt much more fun and the graphics were excellent. Wario Land just feels like more fun than your typical Mario platformer, and I appreciate that.

Eighteenth GOTW finished for 2024. Didn't really do anything amazing, but there was a lot of variety in the levels and the boss battles were interesting. Good graphics as well. Platforming wasn't too slippery or hard, and there weren't any unfair enemy placements or poor level design. More fun than it had any right to be!

Seventeenth GOTW finished for 2024. One of the slowest-moving games I have every played, seriously I thought the game was borked when I initially started playing it. Absolutely designed as a coin guzzler, with some truly unfair enemy and boss mechanics. At least the music was pretty good? Blegh.

Sixteenth GOTW finished for 2024. This game didn't do anything particularly offensive, but I also didn't feel like there was much here. Basically a point-and-click adventure game with limited combat and a pretty standard story. The super short run time makes it a pretty easy one to finish, but it can just as easily be skipped.

Fifteenth GOTW finished for 2024. What an interesting game. The gameplay was really cool and your AI partner was actually pretty competent. This one was also quite hard, especially the bosses. Quite fun overall, and a good challenge!
