First off, I would like to say that I've heard complaints of it being "too short" or "too hard", but it's about as difficult as other Metroid games I've played, and any difficulty is a fun challenge rather than overly difficult/unfair feeling, and it was way longer than the previous longest Metroid game I played (which is only 1-5 or Zero Mission-Dread). Now, to the review

What a beautiful game. I love almost everything about it. The atmosphere is amazing, the EMMIs are terrifying and I love it. The bosses are all ranging from good-amazing. Her new abilities add a lot of fun, and the controls take away one of my complaints from some past games. My second biggest complaint about Super Metroid was switching through all of the items. There was the missile, super missile, power bomb, grapple beam, x-ray scope, or none. This game consolidates them and assigns them to their own buttons, which makes it feel so good. The amazing feel of the controls and animation make it so much fun to run around the world. Also, the EMMI counter is done very well. It's hard enough to pull off where you still fear the EMMIs and don't want to get caught, but getting caught isn't necessarily the end. You also feel a good sense of accomplishment when countering an EMMI and having a narrow escape. I still remember when one time I escaped twice back to back and still barely escaped the EMMI room. It really gets your blood pumping and you feel the rush when being chased by an EMMI. I know I mentioned that I love the animation of this game, but I absolutely adore the animation of the EMMI. Since the initial reveal trailer I loved the way they flip around and invert their limbs to move around their rooms.

My biggest complaint about this game is still something minor. One of the bosses towards the end of the game has a specific way to kill it that me and a friend failed to see, so we both just kept firing missiles at the boss and I even spent 20 minutes on one attempt doing this, I think you should have been able to kill the boss normally but have it take a long time, or do the intended way, so that though it would take longer you would be able to kill it eventually even if you don't notice the intended way of killing it. My second biggest complaint isn't even a complaint, I just wish it was easier to fill in all of the little tiny boxes that make up the map, because I wanted to make it look all nice and neat so I went for map completion. I had to touch every. little. bit. of the world to do this. Not really a complaint and would highly suggest item completion and not map completion.
