Still one of the best modern collectathons.

(Would be even more perfect if it had a collectible tracker tho)

An absolute MUST PLAY for any fans of old school collectathon platformers. I loved how focused Tinykin is on pure platforming. There's no shoehorned combat to speak. Just a ton of stuff to collect in a handful of fun levels that open up as you go through them. It's a lot of fun. The artstyle is also something that works a lot better than I would have thought. The crisp 2D character models look fantastic and feel like they're a part of the otherwise 3D world. Really well done stuff. The OST is also quite memorable with a lot of the tracks having just the right kind of vibe to instill a childlike wonder in me.

There are a few things in Tinykin that hold it back from being something even more special though. I felt the actual Tinykins were underutilized. They ultimately boil down to being projectiles or bridges/ladders. If ever we get a sequel I'd love to see some more out there Tinykin variants. That's not to say what we have isn't fun. It is! There's just so much untapped potential! Also, the framerate completely gives up any time you enter an area with carpet. Worth mentioning because there happens to be a lot of carpet in this game lol. Oh! And another thing. There's a LOT of dialogue in this game but I found most of it to be pretty boring or uncompelling. The creatures that talk to you have a certain quirkiness to them which is fun but I definitely found myself skipping dialogue from random NPCs.

Tinykin was a really memorable time for me. I even ended up collecting everything and getting all of the achievements. This game is a vibe and I can't recommend it enough to platformer fans.
