Yeah, I'm sorry man, but I can't agree with 90% of this review, though I will definitely preface by saying that I am guilty of nostalgia here haha.

1) Slight error but DKC1 was co-composed by Eveline Fisher. Wise soloed DKC 2 and Tropical Freeze.

2) I actually don't get the slippery comment- maybe there was an issue with the NSO, but outside of the ice levels, there is no momentum when DK or Diddy land the way there is in the Super Mario Bros. games. Maybe your controller was defective, being unofficial?

2) You mind linking some screen caps for the platform critique because, outside of trees, which I agree were awkward at times, DKC did a solid job distinguishing platforms. I can't really think of a platformer that's ever failed at this aspect.

3) Hitboxes??? My brother outside of bosses, enemies died in one hit, so what're you even talking about here?

4) The level design, again, I don't agree - I'd say there were just as many cautious levels as there were fast levels, but a more slow-paced level isn't even a criticism: not every platformer needs to be Sonic.

@DragonMals - Yeah, that's very well put, and thank you for the earlier comment btw, I forgot to say thanks.

Tbh, I'm not a fan of the star system. I think it only works if you care about conveying to yourself how much you liked a game. If you care about setting-up a recommendation for prospective buyers, then the ACG scale of "Full price, Sale, Deep Sale, Don't Buy" works best.

@Detectivefail - thank you my friend, and yeah, manually save constantly if you want to prep for it.

Ty man, do you write book reviews too? They're much easier to do than video games haha
