Donkey Kong Jr. Math
1983
Seriously underrated, actually!
Though, Donkey Kong Jr. Math is a game that needs its due context to work. As its own thing, as a singleplayer experience? You could do worse, but there isn't a whole lot there to make the math engaging. It's basically adding arithmetic to the mobility of Donkey Kong Jr. DK Jr is a fun character to move around as, so he makes for a decent enough character for this type of experiment. "+-×÷ Exercise", in particular, is good for practicing arithmetic, but it doesn't do much in the way of teaching so much as it does drilling.
As a multiplayer experience, however? There's honestly something there. It's not amazing or anything, but tension kinda builds as the numbers go up, and as you start dealing with "Calculate B"'s negative numbers. There's honestly a place for this or a similar game as a casual eSport. Don't sleep on this just 'cause it's a dumb ol' edutainment title!
