One of my favorite childhood games
The first Jak game was a no-fuss platformer and I think that's all it ever needed to be.
This game made my brain go fucking numb, i actively hated every song on here.

The game is iconic, but it's just not that great. It has a really good setlist, but most of the songs are bad covers and a lot of the charts just aren't that great honestly. Still it was the shit back in 2006.

Where it all started. Definitely rough around the edges but laid the framework for my all time favorite game genre. I remember trying a demo unit set up in a best buy in North Carolina for the first time and I was absolutely hooked from there

The covers are pretty trash coming back to this game nowadays, which is a shame because it has a solid setlist, but the HOPO system is basically broken in this entry. There's just no reason to play it over any of the later games nowadays. I still can't absolutely hate it though due to how revolutionary it was

Heavy nostalgia bias plays part in this but even today i love this game. Its combination of a platformer/collect-a-thon and a racer makes it among the more unique of the crash entries and i think this combination works for the most part. The difficulty is pretty much non-existent, and tracks are painfully linear compared to the previous entries, but the game compensates by making the driving and shooting (yes, shooting) fun thanks to its fusion system in its races. The platforming levels are also just big enough that it doesn't get boring exploring them and getting every single thing within it and the game makes sure to reward you for all of this, so 100% this game was a blast the whole way through. Also...it has a dedicated fart button during loading screens. Can't go wrong with that.
