This is a very rock solid metroidvania.

You hate yourself, play this game. You're gonna hate it so much more

I am honestly shocked how good this game is. I expected to be great and yet I was blown away by it. Combat is done really well, boss fight especially, also has great characters, phenomenal writing, and emotional ending that broke me. Go play this masterpiece now.
