And absolute gem and masterpiece! My all time favorite JRPG. This is definitely one of my comfort games from when I was a kid and still is many many years later.

An incredibly beautiful fleshed out world with a wonderful built cast of characters (except Amaranth) fuck him he's boring idc. The dynamic between all the characters always has me smiling.

There's always just so much to do and find from treasure maps, Triple Triad, Blue mage spells, collectibles, etc etc. (Fuck I love triple triad)

The soundtrack is also just phenomenal, they really let Nobuo Uematsu COOK! I just can't say enough good things about this game.

I suppose my only complaint is the very end game is pretty stretched out. It's not terrible but it definitely slows the exciting pace down.

Play this game, it's phenomenal.

I wasn't gonna write anything, I was just gonna finish this game, rate it, but I have to talk about how it makes me feel.

Bad.

First off I wanna say that the characters (minus Jessie good God I can't stand her) are amazing and there's good representation in the game which I loved to see. The soundtrack is also bomb, and while I had reservations about the combat it slowly grew on me. The story is also amazing when you can't tell that they're not just stretching Part 1 of a full game.

My biggest gripes about the game is how incredibly hand holdy it is, and the cutscenes with the slow walking pace showing you "gee we need a way up this ladder...but how are we gonna do it" -walks two feet to the left, another slow paced walk dialogue starts- "I know! We can do this!" -shows me exactly what to do-
And this is constant, all the puzzles are just terribly made and it just slowly eats at you.

Another thing is the voice acting. Everyone sounds so awkward with all the gaspy grunts and sighs. It's sounds like I'm watching an English dubbed anime and I cant stand it. I get that that's just genetally how voice acting is here in the west, but it makes for weird or cringey interactions that won't allow me to enjoy the moment. (This is probably just a me thing but)

Overall the game is really fun, but the time between content is just so aggravating to play through. I wish I could rate it higher.
