I really can't understand why people like this game so much. I played for almost an entire week and absolutely hated it, even though I tried really hard to enjoy it.

Don't get me wrong, I love harvest moon and other cozy games, and I also find the mechanic that uses the real time interesting. However there are some major turnoffs on this game for me.

For starters, the plot. You start as an impostor, passing yourself off as the mayor (even though you are the only human in a city full of animals, which should be a tipoff). Then to go on with the fraud you have to go in debt by taking a loan so you can have a tent that will later become a house. Sure, that's what I need in my relaxing time, to worry about debts I shouldn't have done and lying to an entire city.

I spent multiple days going to the shop to buy some tools to help me make more money to pay the loanshark back, like the fishing rod, but the goddam seller (which was also a raccoon) surely took his time and refreshed the tools at the shop only on the third or fourth day.

Also, another huge dealbreaker for me: I like to plan. In stardew valley I already know how my farm will look like in the future the moment I start a new playthrough. When I chose the map for the city and the spot for my house, I already had plans for this land. Where I would put my fence and my flowers, etc. Just a few days after I have settled, a new NPC comes into town and put her house right where I was planning on building my backyard. And I could not make the f***r move her house either!! -_-"

So yeah, in one week I commited fraud, got scammed by a raccoon into contracting a huge loan so I could have a tent over my head, had the lazy shopper avoiding selling me the tools to make more money (he definetly is in the raccoon's payroll since it's a cartel) and then the house of my dreams got crushed by a dam cow that decided to move to my backyard. And my fake mayor powers were not even useful since I couldn't evict her!

This is one of my top 5 most frustrating games ever.
