Trial: Turnabout Samurai

- Played a little bit.
- Alright Maya is a fun character. Very endearing.
- Something about this trial is a bit hard to get through. Dunno why yet. (Update: Got through the first trial. It's a pointless one because the evidence is dumb, and the revelations could've been made through the investigation portion. I kinda think it's a waste of time.)

Chapter 10
Got the Master Keycard. Time to revisit the entire Ishimura.

+ Space Basketball! I love that this wacky mini-game exist in one of the most horrific experiences in gaming. It makes sense too that they have recreational activities in the middle of space. Took me 2 tries to finish. I thought the necrobabies were part of the experience lol. High Score: 300

+ Now that I think I've explored 90% of USG Ishimura, I like how every are is used to its maximum effect like no area got boring or overused because each time you go back throughout the story, there's new enemies and encounter scenarios. Also 90% of enemies doesn't spawn, thank God. I don't want more scarcity in my already scarce ammo economy.

+ Side Missions are perfect. They all add lore to the crew/Ishimura, the rewards are great, they again, use Ishimura pretty well. I just wish there's a way to communicate without having to manually switch to the tracking

Chapter 6
Holy hell what a chapter. Leviathan was a fun fight.

Chapter 7
Met Nicole. Something's wrong. She's probably brainwashed? Could be hallucination too like Daniels' brother but this one talks with us so...

- backtracked cuz I missed a side-mission in a different area. wish there's 2 lines when using R3.
- Items kept falling through the floor
- Game gives waaaay too many Flamethrower rounds. There's an imbalance to the ammo economy it feels like.

Chapter 8
Another banger chapter and another banger Leviathan fight. I'm mad I forgot the shortcut to quick heal. All this time I've been going to inventory just to heal lol

- Waypoint busted on Zero G

Chapter 9
Possible Chen fight? Can't wait. (Update: No Chen fight. RIP to the homie tho. Sorry we doubted ya)

Chapter 4
Got a great assortment of weapons. They're all surprisingly fun and varied. The game design is super tight. Not much else to say. Everything is ramping up and Isaac's mentally getting worse

Chapter 5
Hunter section is awesome. I thought I'm used to the scares but that elevates it a bit. A bit worried tho because I used up all my ammo before figuring out the trick to the boss fight

+ btw I kept forgetting to mention how there's NO LOADING and that's cool.

Chapter 6
With almost no ammo, I've learned to use Kinesis a lot and it's surprisingly OP. What a game-changer

- Noticing lags here and there. Glad it's not too bad. I don't mind much.

- the receipt thing was kinda eh but overall a great trial. I appreciate how easy it is when you pay attention and helps with the pacing. Wish it's a bit shorter for my easily-distracted brain tho. Took 4 sessions to finish.
- Can't wait to see what Maya's gonna bring to the table.

+ Getting used to the scares. Progressed through chapter 2 much quicker.

+ ok I lied. Just got the Ripper and... Plasma Cutter who?
+ Enemy variety just adds so much to everything. Fuck them little things inside the big bois.

+ Love me some diegetic UI
- NPC kept nagging you to hurry on when you're reading logs
- No Photo Mode :(
+ Stomping is fun af
+ Atmo is PERFECT. It feels like you're constantly being watched and surrounded. It feels tight and nerve-wracking. Perfectly conveys what Isaac is feeling. Also Isaac is constantly breathing heavily with each action and that just adds to the tension. LOVE IT.

- Mia just died like that huh
- Can't believe Belle Delphine was in this game lol (Love her dialog btw. You can glean a lot of the character from the writing. S-tier localization)
- Miles Edgeworth is a great addition. Feels like a Death Note mind battle in the courtroom.
- No way to read logs kinda annoying.
- Surprisingly long trial. I hope it doesn't get too convoluted at the end.

- Fun and short. Can't wait for a more complex trial.
- The sprites are super animated and full of character. I like it.
- Don't like how at the end of the trial, they just revealed who dies in the next one.

Areas Explored: Yagyu Village (Revisit), Fog Valley
Bosses Beaten:

- Gave Oyu a fork... and she liked it
- Felt a disconnect with the Takajo scene. Dunno why.
- I was chaining parries since the first hour but all of a sudden I can't anymore. The timing seemingly got tighter? Dunno what happened there.
- Played as Kotaro. Damn he plays and controls better than Jubei

Areas Explored: Castle Gifu
Bosses Beaten:

- Yo it's the Onimusha 1 area! Cool reveal
- Onimusha mode looks sick
- Got a robot horse?! Demon tech is cool
- JubeixOyu feels forced somehow though I buy a love at first sight scenario, if it's that. Also feels like there's an Oyu that may be disguised as a demon? Kotaro said she doesn't "feel" evil at the town compared to the castle.

- Wow it's so different from Warlords in so many ways
- We got towns and affection system now?!

- Started a New Game again. Just learned about Retro Achievements and would like to have achievements popping up. Thank God for skippable cutscenes.
- Parries are so much better I feel.
- Boss was hard af. Maybe it's the tank controls but it took 2 tries. (I never died in Warlords)

- Kaede section was fun. Her dodge is what I need for Samanosuke
- Dark Realm done! Dunno if it was worth using all my meds tho
- Honors are fun to collect
- Finished it! Actually still craving for more so I'll work on all the honors
- Oni Spirits is fun but I hate how tight it is. Took me 6 tries. So stressful.
- English dub is PERFECT
- Finished 2nd run in about 2-ish hours. Pandanosuke is cute. I love unlockable costumes. I wish it's still a thing today.

- Controller not working. Have to figure this out
- Amazing atmosphere. Pacing is great.
- Combat is great and fluid but animation tends to linger, leaving you open to enemy attacks. Needs a better evade system. Enemies and bosses are fun to fight
- The different elemental weapons are surprisingly varied and fun.
- Puzzle room was cool

Areas Explored: Luca - Bikanel

Same as yesterday. Collecting 10 of each monsters, exploring every new areas, re-doing the trials, celestial weapons, al-bhed primers, etc.

- I hate how Wakka's slots and sigils are locked behind blitzball league. Wish it wasn't 10 games...
- Cactuar Quest. It's pretty cool. Wish there's less backtracking tho
- checking how much left for the optional stuff and... I'm ready to move on. Maybe finish the celestial weapon and at least one sphere grid. Too much for my first experience IMO

- Doing optional stuff and prep before the seemingly final stretch of the game
- Collecting 10 of each monster. Pretty tedious but thankfully there's boosters
- Died to some random 3 bug ladies at mushroom road

Bosses Beaten: Chimerageist (5 tries, all my summon died lol), Defender X, Yojimbo, Ronso Bros, Seymour 3, Sanctuary Keeper, Lady Yunalesca

- Yojimbo acquired. He looks super cool.
- Tried Yojimbo. I'll never use him again
- I'm not prepared to finish this
- Yunalesca fight was awesome. Forced me to learn proper customization just to avoid her status attacks. Died 2x. Wasn't prepared for Zombie and Mega Death. Rikku's Item Use is MVP for quick party heals and buffs.

- Chocobo Training/race is pretty fun except the first course. The Remiem Chocobo race tho...
- Captured some monsters. First death was from Chimerageist

- Summon fight was awesome
- Finally saw the famous underwater date scene. It's great. I'm feeling the ending's not gonna be a happy one if they're gonna tie it to the theme of death but there's also breaking away from tradition so who knows maybe the party will end Sin and that'll be it. No sacrifices.
