Failures to Launch

It’s becoming an increasingly concerning trend for high profile games to release in disastrous states these days, be it due to technical issues or other problems. I’ve decided to list the most notorious here. While a lot of these have gotten fixed since, their reputations and legacies will be forever tarnished by their faults at launch.

Final Fantasy XIV? I've not played it but I understand the original launch was so rough that whilst they supported it with updates they built an entirely new game in the background and launched it again. Pretty amazing feat for an initial disaster.
Ooh, good point. I hadn’t thought about that one. Definitely will add it.
Hmm are you still taking suggestions? If so maybe WarCraft III: Reforged could fit. The launch was super bad. That I'm still left disappointed at the state of it.

I don't agree that their legacies are forever tarnished for the ones that did repair themselves. If anything, the fact that the devs opted to do that over abandoning things ala Anthem & Redfall is something praiseworthy since we know most premature releases are b/c of publisher mandates.
