Had this sitting in an old itch.io bundle for a few years and finally played.

I would have done anything for a faster walking speed (even 40% speed is a crawl), but other then that this is the kind of weird, surreal game I like. To be fair, I think my experiences and backgrounds overlapped a lot with the makers of this game which made me a lot more connected to it. There were plenty of moments that called back to my own family.

With that being said, I'm not sure how much people without that personal connection would enjoy this. It leans on the experience of a very specific history, I think, to fill in all the gaps. In fact, most of my enjoyment came from how much I kept relating it to my own family.

Overall, a solid game for me personally, but probably not for most.

This is probably too soon to truly review it since it's currently still a demo, however, this was such an experience to play through. It's very surreal and jumps from scene to strange scene. It has a mix of visual novel elements and bitsy elements that trigger as you walk through this bizarre landscape. And yet, it's all easily tied together by it by a journey through one person's one trauma and mindscape.

Is this game for everyone? Absolutely not lol, and there's some jank to the gameplay that'll probably bother some people as well. But idk, it just really grabbed me and my love of weird games.

This has been my unwinding-at-day's-end game and it's a relaxing time. Some of the controls are a little weird, but it's not enough to bother me or hinder playing in any way. I also find the environments are all really pretty, especially once they're overgrown with plants.
