Precept One: 'Always Win Your Battles'. Losing a battle earns you nothing and teaches you nothing. Win your battles, or don't engage in them at all!

Peak Metroidvania

An extremely strong return to the metroid formula from the genre's namesake, very glad I preordered (despite how long it took me to play)

Despite an inability to keep me playing aside from quick bursts, definitely a game that's long stayed in my library of favorites for a reason

One of the few games I've ever perfected, kinda wish I felt more reason to play it aside from that.

Oyasumi, Oyasumi
Close your eyes and you'll leave this dream

Despite the RPG elements eventually becoming a little grating, the game's story and real-time segments distinctly make up for it in such an extreme way that even giving it a 4.5 feels like too little, but gating an entire route through the most numbing over time aspect of the game without the daytime segments just feels... really bad.

Incredibly fun game, has stolen at least 1 hundred hours of my life just cultivating a modlist.

Fun with friends, still early access hell game
