The gameplay is for the most part the same as Resident Evil 2, but it’s shorter, more linear, less puzzle focused, and I’m disappointed in how it handles the Nemesis. His encounters are all very scripted and easy to predict, I think he goes down too easily, and don’t even get me started on all the “hero throws.” This is in stark contrast to RE2’s Mr X who actively hunted you, roamed the map randomly and, even in the few cases where he actually was scripted, was far more unpredictable. It is ultimately still a decent game that’s worth playing, just a slightly underwhelming one coming off of it’s predecessor.

I agree with everything you said here. I'm more annoyed about the lack of Mercenaries and instead Capcom keep trying with a multiplayer mode no one is interested in. Like seriously Capcom, stop.

I loved Jill and Carlos's new designs and voice actors though. Top notch.

I've always wanted to play this game. I played the remakes of 2 and 4, skipping the 3. The negative reviews ended up discouraging me.

@LeonardoMF93 - it's a really fun well made, good looking game. It's just short and if you're a mega fan of the original has a lot cut. It's definitely worth playing and you can get it pretty cheap now. I recommend it for sure :)

I agree with @FallenGrace, it’s very short but I also really enjoyed it. Especially Jill and Carlos as characters, I just wish they had done more with Jill’s traum which Capcom teased at the beginning. I think it’s not a great remake but still good game if you value quality/fun over playtime. I never played the OG but I know that they cut out a few parts.

It's good to finally see someone making positive comments about this game. The fact that it's short excites me. Honestly, I'm tired of long games. I'm going to give this game a chance!
