Fun to play with your brain turned off or while watching something. The combat never gets too hard but timing crits is fun. Really nice pixel art that is one of the game's main draws. Kind of like a fire emblem combat meets samurai warriors extravagance.

I love metroid so gd much. This laid some really great foundations for what Dread would explore. The parry and movement speed of Samus make navigating the world so much fun. I've seen complaints about the metroids bosses becoming repetitive but I found that they switch them up enough to keep it fresh.

The gameplay is still SMT at its core which is enjoyable, but the setting is such a drag and so meh. I was excited for the jump to 3d battles but it seemed to slow down play considerably.

- Campy and charming, all of the characters are pretty endearing
- QTEs often frustrating
- Deep combat system to dig into that rewards understanding and experimentation
- The sense of spectacle in the game is always dialed up to 11
- Wish there were more opportunities to explore the combat in a no frills setting.

Such a nice surprise! The game only takes about 10 hours to complete. The dice mechanic is fantastic, I almost wish it was used more. The story isn't anything too exciting, but the aesthetic had me immersed for my playthrough.

One of the best games I've ever read. I don't mean that in a snarky way. This game really does have some of the best writing I've seen in the medium. After playing it on switch, however I can confidently say you're better off playing it elsewhere if possible. The game definitely suffers from semi frequent crashes (~10 throughout my time playing) and the automated feature doesn't kick in frequently enough to alleviate the frustration of the setbacks. That being said, the depth of emotion I felt for many of the characters was really something I don't think I've experienced in a game before.

Definitely an improvement on the first release. I think playing a queen also makes a bit more sense thematically.

Pretty bare bones and not really tennis in the end because of the special shots, but still a good time-waster nonetheless.

Such a cute game! The gameplay is very simple to grasp and new mechanics are consistently being added throughout the experience.

Play the later entries and come back to the first if you are really looking for more content. The basic idea here is expanded upon.

This game is kind of like if Kirby mixed with Oscar the grouch. There isn't anything revolutionary in the gameplay, but the visuals are super polished, Leo has great voice acting, and the controls are simple enough to feel comfortable on a touch screen.

I almost quit this game because I kept trying to play it like Elden Ring, but I am so so so glad I didn't. Once you start to read the cues the game is giving you enter a flow state the likes of which I've only experienced while playing fighting games or Kaizo Mario. The combat is pure dopamine. Also has to be some of FromSoft's best music to date, Elden Ring included.

I can see the appeal, but it's a bit too rough around the edges for me. Usually I'm not a stickler for performance, but basic combat interactions have some pretty noticeable lag.

A game that constantly surprised me with its depth. Not just the combat mechanics (which themselves reieved a huge overhaul since the last souls game), but the visuals, lore of the world, and even the music at times. Even people who have been turned off by other FromSoft games owe it to themselves to try this out for a few hours.
