my goat. the nostalgia i have with this game with forever hold it as my #1

i feel like out of all the jrpgs ever released this is like THE jrpg

this is like the most perfect cozy game ever made

clunky controls compared to the sequel but an amazing story with characters that I hold dear to my heart

something about this game just felt hollow when I finished it. the combat is incredibly fun and satisfying but the story failed to hook me as much as the previous titles.

This is the best Kingdom Hearts story and cast out of the entire series. The relationship between Axel, Roxas, and Xion is heartfelt and endearing and they actually interact as friends. The storytelling and ambiance that the game sets are both eerie and alluring. As a massive KH fan, it was nice to interact with all the members of Org13 and see their personalities shine through. However, this game is such a drag to play through. Janky controls and repetitive missions that border between frustrating and boring bring down an otherwise beautiful story that I feel is in desperate need of a remake.

The gameplay can be frustrating and some characters (Terra) are kinda comically stupid, but I do enjoy this a lot. There is a level of charm that this franchise has that makes the flaws not matter to me after all these years.

i really enjoyed the card system for what it was although the story just complicates itself

a fun, fresh take on the pokemon experience although i wish more content was available post-game

my second pokemon game ever and i can still remember the joy i had when i saw rayquaza descend from the skies

Playing this after all the later installments, it definitely shows its ugly flaws. Shitty level scaling and the lack of gen 2 pokemon present in a gen 2 game bog down an otherwise nice time in Johto. I'm a huge fan of gen 2 and Suicune is one of my favorites so I can't say I overly disliked this game. It's just fine. A nice game that I can go back to and enjoy if I don't think too hard about it.
