somehow even better than the original. the dedicated "talk to partner" button made for some really cute and endearing conversations and the new puzzles and artwork took me back to 2013 when I first played the original. had a great time with this one

a nice game whose small blemishes keep it from being a fantastic game.

a game all about riding a bike around landscapes, taking polaroid pictures, and journaling seems like a game made in a lab for me specifically. unfortunately, a few things kept nagging at me during my 7ish hour playthrough: this game suffers heavily from "Please stop talking" disease which isn't helped by the writing being so ostentatious and overly serious; the character designs are genuinely so good in this one, yet the last NPC you meet and finish the game with is cartoonishly goofy looking; and for a game all about exploring and experiencing the environment, the game's camera sure wanted to fight me the entire bike ride! these are by no means game-breaking flaws by themselves, but together they definitely weighed down what should have been a short and sweet experience, making it feel more like a slog than it needed to be.

also made me want to give my mom a hug so take with that what you will.

fun little demo with a lot of heart from people who are clearly fans of the og tv show - will definitely benefit from a full release that improves upon the control movement and some gameplay segments like the red room scene. really excited for any future updates and for anything the two developers will give us.

decent gacha game with a surprisingly interesting main character and intriguing relationship dynamics with the other cast. you can tell the animators are doing their jobs with one hand while the other's on their dicks with how lovingly the H scenes are animated (I mean this in the best way possible)

the only reason I know the exact date I stopped playing is because that's when I got a job lmao

2020

the best way I can describe this game is lovably clumsy. the combat, visuals, music, and voice acting are all at worst clunky, yet Haven's highest high is only somewhere around "above average" quality.

the combat could've been a lot more interesting, or at least engaging, if there were a few more options or moves other than a couple of attacks, a defense, and an 'end battle' move all of which take a lot of time to charge up. the combat and crafting UI also aren't the most intuitive things and take some getting used to. the game has you picking up and collecting various resources on the planet which you can use to either cook or craft which, again, because of the clunky UI ends up being more of a tedious task since you can only craft one thing at a time and every time you make something, a short cutscene plays. this ended up with me bringing next to no items on exploring since I didn't want to sit for 10+ minutes crafting despite only having 3 resources to craft with.

the characters were the highlight of the game since it really feels like you're getting to know them along with each other as they deepen their relationship further while being stranded. they genuinely feel like a couple who care about one another and who have their own interests and conflicts which they bring into the relationship. the game does attempt to bring more intrigue and mystic into the game, but anything remotely interesting outside of Yu and Kay's relationship is pretty much brushed aside, so if you're not feeling anything towards the two leads, there's not much else here for you.

all in all, despite how clunky the actual game part of the game is, I still enjoyed playing Haven and getting to learn more about Yu and Kay's world and lives.

very cute little lovely game. controls were very smooth and visuals were adorable; only complaint would be the fixed camera had trouble keeping up during times when I was gliding really fast and moving around a lot. all in all, a game that did make me take walk when I finished despite the planet being on literal fire (always take a water bottle folks!)

this game makes me feel like i'm fighting in the trenches.
it's been hours. i haven't seen my wife in forever. food is getting scarce. Melting Love has escaped AGAIN. i just wanna go home.

a game filled with hate and vitriol for me, specifically

no joke, the best Borderlands game hands down

dropped not because subnautica is bad or anything (it's amazing) but because i'm a big coward baby who cannot handle underwater creatures being within 10 miles of myself. truly the most caputtes-horror game of all time

can't think of a better way to spend 100+ hours than cursing at my tv whenever a doohickey i'd spent more than 10 minutes on building blew up

only grindy RPG that made me want to level up. A Rain of Light and Shadow is probably my new favorite JRPG track of all time

love can transcend time, existence, and even flesh

saddest and most emotional game of 7 minutes in heaven I've ever seen.
