I played this game after already knowing the story after watching a playthrough, so it probably would have had more impact if I were to have played it without that. However, I really enjoyed the story and the interactions between the characters. The dialogue was strong. The puzzles weren't overly complex so the game was mostly talking and walking, but not in a bad way. I'd have liked the atmosphere to have been a bit spookier, but otherwise really enjoyed it.
I actually enjoyed this more than I expected and the gameplay was a nice change from Alan Wake. Moving through areas at a quicker rate and having a wider variety of enemies to deal with gave it a nice bit of variety. Mr Scratch's videos were a fun watch too. If you can get passed some of the secondary characters having iffy voice acting, it's worth a play.
Nothing really changed from the original Alan Wake game aside from the graphics, which is expected with a remaster, but I found there were several visual glitches throughout my playthrough that really distracted from the game/story. Whilst it looks a bit better, I don't see it as an improvement on the original game.
