I had never experienced the original Alan Wake as I grew up with primarily Nintendo consoles. Feels like I wasn’t missing out on much at all! With a decent story (even though it is acclaimed by many; really just decent to me) and the most clunky movement/gameplay mechanics I have honestly ever had the displeasure of playing around with, this game really disappointed me. Alan Wake is an asshole. He’s snobby, unlikeable, annoying, and runs like someone with weak knees and a bad heart. Bright Falls is a pretty okay setting, but I grew tired of the same-y forest excursions and repeated logging settings. I do like portions of this (ie. Chapter 5’s stroll through a moonlit Bright Falls) as well as the well lit room section. Kind of unsalvageable though. Here’s hoping Alan Wake 2 is much, much better!

Although I really enjoyed multiple aspects of Skyward Sword I did have some issues with it. Firstly, the repeated use of areas was a bit exhausted. I hated having to fly across the map over and over again with the clunky flight mechanics. The combat is pretty fun, but the lack of enemy uniqueness in the way they attack back leaves something to be desired. This is a great iteration of the character Zelda, and the NPC's were pretty fun (especially Sparrow). Overall pretty fun with a great artstyle; but a bit tedious.

Kirby and the Forgotten Land is easily my favorite Kirby game. The reinvention of all these Nintendo franchises in the 3D format is something I am down for 100%. The copy abilities are so fresh (despite not having as much options when it comes to attacking). I didn't really mind the collectables this time around, as you can achieve the figures through the Gotcha (haha) Machines. Post game stuff is pretty enjoyable as well! Ultimate Z Cup got me on the ropes for awhile but I pulled through! Def check this one out.
