Firstly, I just wanna start this review off by talking about the first game from 2013. The story feels... weird to experience. In the first game, we're introduced to Lara as she's getting ready to do an expedition in the Bermuda Triangle, not BEFORE it happens, but AS it's happening. This is worth bringing up here because I feel that decision from the first game really stunted Lara's growth as a character for me, and sadly this stunted growth affects her here, which is a shame because I feel she could have been written SO much better if we were introduced to her properly. It honestly feels like the story was an afterthought as I found myself not really caring about the struggle she was facing in this game because there wasn't any real previous attachment to the character. Regardless, the gameplay was an improvement overall from the first game. It definitely shows the developers really wanted you to explore the map this time around, as the game encourages you to explore to find documents, murals, and of course tombs, for XP and upgrade, which is a positive thing. The tombs were fun to explore, but 2/3's of the way through the upgrades you find in them don't really matter too much as enemies became so easy to kill towards the end of the game it became pretty mind-numbing. This game took one step forward, but ended up taking two steps back as well, which is a shame as it definitely feels like the developers did manage to improve the experience overall.

This game's mechanics aged like milk, but everything else about it was great. Having to save constantly so I don't have to redo hours of progress was extremely annoying. The Mako's controls suck, the different planets you can visit are bare with a few things you can do and survey here and there, and the combat leaves a bit to be desired, but it was worth doing it for the story alone. The twists and turns, the characters, the choices you have made, whether heroic or ruthless, and the world alone definitely make this a game worth playing.

I remember playing this game as a kid on the Wii, and it still holds up all these years later, despite me not really remembering anything about the game. Although some levels were buggy, VSync fixed them. Love the grunts.

One of the more fun platforms on the Wii, although it's extremely short. The levels are very short, but to compensate for it, they have replay value with all the challenges that you can go for. The bosses weren't anything special, but the final boss was definitely the most interesting one. I just wish this game was longer than it is.

I've never beaten the other Luigi's Mansion games, but this definitely one of the best games on the Switch. It's well-animated, fun, the puzzles are interesting, and it looks gorgeous. Luigi's characterization was also a big plus to this game as well as the variety of different areas you visit in the hotel, even if some of them are pretty short towards the endgame. The bosses are definitely pushovers though as I didn't have much trouble beating most of them, requiring you to dodge the clearly indicated attacks and flash at the proper time. They do try to shake this up by having the ghosts wear/carry something to prevent them from being flashed or requiring you to distract them while Gooigi does something to the side. The parts where Polterkitty runs off with a button or finding a missing Toad are clearly there to extend the game time and should have been cut. I don't have very many complaints about this game but I can recommend it to people easily, even if it's pretty easy.

That was Pac-Man World alright. A decent platformer, but not my favorite. Hope they remake the other games in this series though.

Don't have much to say about this one but this is definitely the first game in a trilogy. Tough and clunky sometimes, but also satisfying to play and beat.

Spoiler tagged just in case. I played the campaign solo on Heroic, and it definitely feels a lot more balanced and fun to play compared to something like Halo 2 on Heroic, even if the brutes did take quite a nerf. The Flood levels are definitely my favorite levels in the game with how tense they could be with all the different enemies rushing and shooting you. This game is also gorgeous to look at, with its magnificent setpieces and memorable moments, like the warthog run at the very end of the game or when you take down a scarab on the highway. They really didn't need to take you out of the gameplay so someone like Cortana could say something to you (thankfully it's not during firefights and is contained to more quiet sections of the levels, but it's still annoying nonetheless). A great end to a good trilogy of games.

Spoiler warning just in case. I can't help but feel like the first game is better than this one in almost every way. The cast for the most part is uninteresting, the story drags on, and I find this game ends worse than 999 did. I can't help but feel they needed to make a cohesive ending for this one so they can justify making another one. VLR definitely has better puzzles than 999, but not all of the puzzles are great, and there are a lot of puzzles in this one. The OST is fine. I also do not like what they did to Akane's character at all in this one. She basically goes from the girl you save in the first game to being some sort of scientist wizard that predicts the future and basically knows exactly what will happen. This game works despite all I said, but it doesn't work well enough that I'll remember it fondly, unlike 999.

A really solid platforming game. The only real complaints I have with this game is that the boundaries aren't always clearly defined and the VA work, but since this came out in 2020 I can forgive it. It also kinda sucks there are 3 playable characters, but there's enough variety to keep you interested.

This is definitely my fab NMH experience, but I never wanna play this game again. A very stylish, but linear and repetitive game that slogs at the very end.

Probably the best of the classic DOOM games. Played it on the I Own Doom skill level and it was pretty brutal, which I enjoyed. I don't have a lot to complain about, besides the absence of the Revenant from DOOM II. It's basically just DOOM again but I enjoyed playing through most of the levels.

Definitely one of the better modern boomer shooters I've played, although it's no Doom Eternal or Dusk imo. The movement is very fluid for the most part but some parts like the grappling hook feel a bit clunky (swinging around the enemy like you can in Doom Eternal). Some levels also felt too large so I did find myself getting lost because I needed to push 1 tiny button on the huge wall or walk through a door that looked like a wall. The enemy and level design have so much variety, and the game also just has a great look and I can't compliment the art direction enough. I did also enjoy all the nods to other Postal media. And in classic Postal fashion, it's crude, offensive, and sometimes in bad taste with its humor, which is what makes Postal, Postal. I'd recommend this game if you like boomer shooters or Postal.

Definitely the weakest RGG game, but that doesn't mean it's bad. The combat can be awkward if you are used to the Yakuza/Judgment games with the absence of a proper grab and heat gauge. It also feels like fights take too long cause the heat actions take a good chunk of time up in fights; you probably spend more time looking at the heat actions rather than fighting the hordes of enemies. Boss fights are very weirdly balanced as some are too hard or pathetically easy, and also the long fights don't seem to give you any healing items along the way. As a fan of the series, it's enjoyable seeing all the fan service they provide with the characters in the talismans and fights from the series. The open world is pretty much any standard RGG game; compact but filled to the brim with stuff to do. The story is pretty boring at first, but picks up with a pleasent twist in the story. This game is definetly for fans of Fist of the North Star, but if you're familiar with the Yakuza/Judgment games, I believe you can still get some enjoyment out of the game.
