The shining beacon of the PC Engine CD. Whether you prefer Gate of Thunder or Lords of Thunder is a matter of opinion but man this game is just so TIGHT.

Everything about this game is OD but I have to give extra shoutouts to the soundtrack for being so wildly different from the rest of the Aleste series that it really gives this game it's own identity.

Not as good as Soldier Blade or Super Star Soldier IMO but still a worthy title in the PC Engine's library of shooting games.

If there's one game that can show off what the PC Engine can do, it's Soldier Blade.
Crazy good soundtrack, engaging gameplay, the laser and cross shot feel good to use. The bosses towards the end take some learning to get the patterns down and there's a definite difficulty spike but practice makes perfect! Also make sure to use your options to eat enemy bullets. Master that technique and you'll be able to beat the game in one go.

I missed my ex-gf's birthday because I was playing Super Star Soldier. Great game.

Cramped corridors full of cloned super soldiers and rent a cops VS a combat shotgun that can split these fools in half or turn them to a fine mist.
The story is whatever but the atmosphere and combat is what really brings it over to top to me and cements it as one of my favorite games of all time.
The Penetrator is also one of the most godlike weapons in video game history. Once you nail some poor sap's head to the wall you can't get enough.

As a fan of the Street Fighter EX series this game was everything I wanted and more.
Compliments to the sound team for making another godlike soundtrack that's just as memorable as the EX series.

One of my favorite games of all time. Do yourself a favor and play the English patched JP version. Bosses are less spongy and you get some dialogue that was removed from the US version.
