seriously one of my favorite games ever. endlessly replayable and hilarious. only knocking off half a star because 1) no same sex couples (though i understand this was a lot more contentious in 2013) and 2) after a while of playing, you kind of run out of things to do (though it always feels fun and fresh again after a break!)

don't know if i will return to it soon but it gave me many many hours of joy through middle school and i will always appreciate it for that

it's good but just doesnt feel as good as splatoon 2 for me for whatever reason
