the 3D models here aged worse than the 2D sprites of the original but its still game tengoku which means you really cant go wrong. The charm of the first game is as present here as it was in the first game, which was exactly what I was looking for. As for gameplay, it feels the same but I may not be learnt enough on shmups to really know how good or bad it really is on that front. Either way, I certainly had a great time.

im not into shmups that much but holy shit this is some good stuff. got those 90s otaku vibes, love to see it. lots of jaleco fanservice which im not really a big jaleco nerd but i still appreciate it. If anything this game works as a fantastic commercial because now I wanna play a bunch of Jaleco games and see where all these characters come from, they got me.

should have focused more on multiplayer than singleplayer honestly. The singleplayer modes have some interesting applications of the gamepad (Especially gamer), and I did enjoy pirates as well for being the closest thing to a new rhythm heaven on the wii U that we got. However, the multiplayer modes, more specifically sketch and fruit, are incredibly fun party games that make use of the gamepad and give this game its TRUE lasting power. I can't believe I have to say this, but the game is definitely not worth its frankly absurd current aftermarket value.

Absolutely genius move to combine qix with horny ngl. Not a lot of variety here with regards to enemies since its the same 3 levels for each world, but who's really playing this for the gameplay yanno? I've heard the future games in this series are better so I guess it'd be better to play those instead if you can. But you probably already know exactly what you are getting yourself into if you want to play this game in the first place.

Like all other sunsoft fighting games, this goes hard. The characters are rad, the levels are incredibly wide, and the game feels good to play. I was even able to have a solidly fun time playing this with a friend that normally doesn't like fighting games. Banger video game

I love fractions and frogs this game taught me all the fractions with my frog. its free just play it and do your fractions like a good little froggy

As someone who liked amplitude a lot, I was curious to see where the concept all started by playing this. While the game plays similarly to Amplitude, which is good, the control scheme is a lot more troublesome. I had to futz about in the controller settings until I eventually found a scheme that somewhat worked. I'd say at this point you are much better off playing amplitude instead but if you want more and can handle the slightly less refined gameplay and controls this is a solid time.

its aight. The level design is certainly classic sonic-esque, feeling a bit more like a fusion between the classic series and the advance series. The bosses feel very treasure-inspired for some reason, but I sure as hell ain't complaining. The plot has cutscenes that overstay their welcome and amateur voice acting which really bogs down the entire game imo. I think theres a mode that skips all the cutscenes automatically, but then that kinda feels like somethings missing, ya know? Its cool that an indie team could make a game that feels like a classic sonic game, and this def be a solid enough game, but it also ain't no sonic replacement that's for sure.

Absolutely fascinating video game. Subverts expectations through gameplay in the kind of sense that the game is designed like an "anti-game". I think that while it is a totally valid opinion to see all the monotonous walking around from place to place and the absolutely bullshit story riddles that require you to sift through a neigh 50 page guidebook of literal nonsense in order to figure out what random backass code the game wants you to put in to proceed in the game and think that the game is not good due to it not being very fun or interesting, as a lot of "mainstream" game reviews have said. But the weird thing is that I feel like the monotony and convolution is entirely intentional. The creators were aware of it. The game is aware of it. And the game uses those boring gameplay moments to craft its whole narrative around and it makes something really unique. Something fresh that I've never really played before. And I think because of it, the game is certainly worth trying out, even if you don't see it through to the end.

This game dude. Visually this game looks absolutely breathtaking and is absolutely timeless due to the wonderful art design. Using the motion controls of the Sixaxis controller, this game tries to give a feeling of flying freely with the wind in an open field, and it delivers that sensation quite well. Absolutely something I would recommend, this is one of the first games to really have me thinking about the medium as more of an art form.

started very uncomfortably with how the floigans look, talk, and animate, then became rather charming with its approach to how you interact with the world through the cartoony antics of the floigans, until finally becoming infuriating because the game relies on you manipulating an AI that you really have no control over to proceed in the game, and if moigle doesn't want to cooperate with you then you are just screwed. Truly an evolution of whatever genre you would consider pac-man 2. And just like that game, I can understand the points kinda about interacting with an AI character that's supposed to feel "real" but I think a lot of people just find it kinda frustrating, myself included. Charming as all hell but yea there are much better games to play on dreamcast

wow, I actually made it to the end of this game. Really satisfying to play and infinitely replayable to get a higher and higher score. Because the game levels are one screen big and loop infinitely, you always know where everything is and where you need to go. The controls are also floaty yet smooth and precise, and the levels are designed in a way that rewards speed and mastery of said control style. It just clicks with me, I guess. Definitely one of my favorite games on the mega drive and I constantly have kept coming back to it to top my high scores for the past like over 10 years honestly.

you know, now that all has been said and done with the series, and it has kinda plateaued into just having its own audience that just does their own thing and doesn't bother anyone, i think this game was interesting, but not really my thing personally. I thought that the lore for the game was intriguing, and the game has its own unique atmosphere that is tense and brooding, which i honestly actually kinda dig. The only thing is that jumpscares stress me out too much, so I don't actually enjoy playing this series, and only played this first one. The whole crux of the gameplay is the tension of knowing that your fail-state is a jumpscare which psyches you out into just being anxious the whole game, and while thats definitely a type of fear, i dont think its a very good one personally as its more of a negative emotion than anything else, and even once you do become immune to jumpscares, then all thats left is just a game thats building tension that doesnt work that well. all in all its a unique game and series, and definitely deserved the popularity it got, but im also kinda glad it stopped being a thing.

Fun enough reason to bring your DS around with you and streetpass people (though good luck doing that in this day and age). Nothing too deep but it does pass a bit of time while checking streetpasses, plus you get to bug your friends IRL to change their mii shirt colors already NOBODY IS WEARING WHITE AND THAT SHIELD WILL NOT GO DOWN AND I DON'T WANNA WASTE ALL MY PLAY COINS
