Fun for what it is, but limited by being gimmicky ripoff of multiple other games, filled with poor and inconsistent gamedesign and otherwise looking like any other generic UE game with stock assets

I need some kind of vaguely achievable goal to keep playing a game, and Hades delivers on that with both story bits and increased/varied difficulty modifiers, where other rogue-likes would go stale much sooner. Having the entire playthrough backed by so many unique characters and a simple set of goals made me enjoy it a lot.

As with similar games, every new run is basically a gamble for getting good and synergizing items, though this didn't really become too much of an issue until much later in the game for me.

I'm a sucker for impossibly difficult, meaningful choices to make, and this DLC is full of them. Outside of having to deal with Cyberpunk's dank wanted level system and car maneuvering, I wasn't bored or annoyed once during the entire playthrough. Even more banger characters and music than the base game. It's like you're in the middle of an incredible action thriller, except you get to enjoy it for 20 hours instead of 2.

Every side mission and gig comes with its own set of unique characters and twists that fit perfectly to Dogtown. The restricted area also means you rarely have to walk or drive more than 200-300 meters beyond using fast travel once in a while.
